gold sunrise Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Basketball season for 2014/2015 should provide another exciting year. What should we expect from DuPont Manual Remember, please be constructive.
Crimsonfan1 Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 The Crimsons return 4 of 5 starters from last years 20-11 squad including Dwayne "Waynie" Sutton. Sutton recently committed to UNC Asheville. In my opinion he is one of the top 10 players in the state. I expect that Manual will be in the upper tier of the very tough 7th region this season. With a team consisting of 6 seniors and at least 5 juniors who have plenty of experience due to the fact that coach Just believes in playing a lot of players during the course of the regular season. Some of the players that the Crimsons will rely on this season are Seniors Chris West, Jarrett Harness, Ja'kory Freeman, Jake Chilton, and Ty'Ron Horton, a recent football commitment to WKU. I believe Manual's starting five will be as good as any in the state. The key for the Crimson's will be the type of contributions the juniors can give. Top juniors for the team are Marquis McClendon, Stevie Gordon, and Jo Aunn Rivers. The team has 3 Juniors that are starters for the football team, Tim Comstock, Eric Niemann, and Omari Alexander who may or may not choose to play basketball this season. This could effect the team greatly as far as depth is concerned. If they choose not to play the team will have to call on some underclassmen to pick up the slack.
Smallhoops Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 I believe Manual's starting five will be as good as any in the state. The key for the Crimson's will be the type of contributions the juniors can give. I saw Manual play a couple times last year and agree with Manual being one of the top teams in the Seventh Region and that Dwayne Sutton will be one of the top players in the State. It will be a good year for the Crimson and I look forward to seeing them play again this year. However, I struggle with the notion that Manual's starting five will be as good as Trinity's starting five. No disrespect, but I don't think that will be the case.
Crimsonfan1 Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Smallhoops you are probably right about T's starting 5 being better. I think it will be interesting to see who T's starting 5 will consist of. Will D. West and Thieneman step into the starting spots vacated by Ivory and Owens?
Smallhoops Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 To be honest, I don't know who Trinity's starting five will be - they've got at least 7 quality seniors from which to pick a starting lineup.
