They lost most of their scoring and a really good player (3rd team CJ all state) in Corey Thomas they also lost SR pg. C. longacher. (sp) This was almost all of their score and they will defiantly be rebuilding. The good thing is so is most team in that district. Holy Cross lost 9 Sr, Valley is not very good. The one wild card will be Beth Haven who I have been told has 3-4 transfers they are trying to get eligible. PRP will win the district.

I would agree with 6thregionguy that PRP pretty much owns this district, but they have much of that riding on a single player in my opinion, Richard Gaines. He is a Sr and once he is gone the gap closes somewhat. Kids development begins to come in play and the PRP staff does well building a team with their system. Fairdale has a new Coach so that will be something to watch the next few years. I do know that the 6th region in general has no clear cut team this year and it really becomes an open race the next several years based on players developing.

In my opinion PRP has more than one single player to depend on. They have point guard Khalid Raheem, shooting guards Hunter Stevenson and Brandon Cranford whom are three point threats, also big man Drew Glass and Greg Davidson.

Not discounting the other players at all and it takes a team to win a district for sure. My point is there is not any question as to who is the most valuable player on that team is imo. He is a player that is one of the best in the region. He is a special player that can take over the game with his athletic abilities that nobody else on that team is that capable of doing. Richard can get to the rim on his own and is a very tough match up for most kids in the state.

Interested in the mention about Beth Haven and what might be going on there. Anyone know any details? I think their coach is back from last year, and he formerly was a head coach at both Owensboro and Iroquois. Is he trying to bring players to Beth Haven to get something going there?
