The Mustangs got their first goal of the night off a Penalty kick in the 3th minute of the game. A Scott County player was called for handling and given a yellow card. Nick Dierig stepped up for the PK and sent a no doubter into the back of the net for the early 1-0 lead. Then in the sixth minute Jon Henn made it 2-0 when Sam Parnell had the throw in to Jon’s feet and Jon turned from 18 yards out and blasted the ball low and hard pass the keeper for the game winner.

The Cardinals got one back in the 25th minute when a Cardinal player took a shot that was initially blocked on a diving stop by Jeff Paulin. The rebound was put back in by another Cardinal forward and the score was cut in half at 2-1 which was the score at intermission.

The Mustangs came out shooting in the second half and picked up the Insurance Goal of the game when Cody Chism running down the left side sent a perfect ball to Jon Henn who made a turn and sent a shot upper 90 far post past the keeper for the 3-1 lead and the final score.
