Pikeville 49 Hazard 36

Featured Replies

Daric Pugh goes off for Pikeville.

Well over 300 yards rushing and 7 TD's

Congrads pikeville on the win. Hazard couldn't stop Pugh. Hazard has work to do but they will get better by playoff time.

Constructive Criticism as an unbiased fan for Hazard

- Obviously their defense needs a lot of work against the run and I was a bit surprised they were not very fast on the outside.

- Jones is awesome. Simply a phenomenal back in 1A and Hazard's meal ticket... but Hazard needs to develop a second running threat to maximize Jones potential for awesomeness.

- If you are going for 2 every time you score... and Jones is the guy doing all the scoring.. why do you constantly feel you have to pass on the conversion? Ride Jones! Hazard lost probably 6 points by insisting on throwing.

- Morgan is a good QB but he has a bad habit on Play Action of rolling out REALLY deep and then throwing off his back foot as he rolls. Each time this happened it was nearly an INT and the normally accurate QB suddenly was ineffective. The deep roll also takes away his ability to scramble...he was about 12-15 yards deep so even if he did try to tuck and run his odds of gaining yards were slim.

- The WR screen was easy to see from a mile away and Pikeville made it a 3 yard loss each time as a result. Either improve it or scrap it.

Great job Panthers. LOVE that there's a Pugh in Maroon. Didn't like when they just wore BLUE back in the day.
