Oldham Co / South Oldham / North Oldham pre-season show.....

Live from Beef O Brady's in LaGrange, KY

Pegasus Sports Network will present the pre-season coaches' show including:

Jamie Reed - South Oldham

Mike Shatzer - new coach at Oldham Co

Billy Martin - North Oldham

Oldham County has been in a three year funk, having won just 9 games in the last three seasons, including 2-win campaigns in 2011 and 2013. Mike Shatzer comes from Alabama to take over the program, and the spring / summer has seen some noticeable changes. A 6A program with less than 50 roster players last year now boasts 82 kids, and the strength program has seen renewed emphasis. But the new coaching staff was dealt a blow when scrimmage opponent Trinity backed out, and the Colonels will go into their week 1 game against Iroquois as the biggest mystery in the county.

South Oldham Jamie Reed enters his fifth season as the Dragons' head man, and he has truly turned around the expectations of the program. After an inaugural 7-4 season in 2010, the Dragons went 6-5 in 2011. In 2013, South won their first playoff game under Reed, going 8-4. Last year, South accomplished some program firsts, winning their first district title outright, going 8-4, and hosting a playoff game. Only a six point loss at the hands of Franklin County kept South from reaching their first regional final in a long, long time.

North Oldham Billy Martin is the "dean" of Oldham coaches, and the North Oldham mentor once again has a team to be reckoned with in the district. Last year's Mustangs lost in the region finals to eventual 4A champ Collins....this year, the district looks to be a three-headed beast with Collins, North, and Spencer County all having legitimate claims. North may be smaller this year up front, but they should still be a dangerous running team, led by senior speedster Arien Beasley, who features legit 4.36 speed....

Mike keep up the great work! I always look forward to your broadcasts.
