Pleasure Ridge Park 2014/2015

Featured Replies

Basketball season for 2014/2015 should provide another exciting year. What should we expect from Pleasure Ridge Park. Remember, please be constructive.

Lose LaMontray Harris, Dangelo Hunter, and Antonio McDaniels to graduation. That's going to be tough to replace.

I'd imagine that senior center Richard Gaines is a guy who'll really be asked to step up. He's a longer, skinny kid that they listed at 6'5. Not sure on how long he's been on the staff, but I noticed that former PRP and U of L big man Terrance Farley was on the bench now, so you'd have to imagine he'll be doing a lot of work with Gaines.

Just thinking back to when I saw them last season, Drew Glass is another kid who'll return that started, but he was more of a role player/utility guy. I thought he was able to pass the ball well and played within his limits, but I thought one of his biggest strengths was passing to one of the "stars" out of the high post, so it's going to be interesting to see if he'll be able to be effective. He'll grab some rebounds, screen, etc., but I would imagine he's going to be able to contribute more if there are guys around him that he can swing the ball to or hit off of cuts.

If we're looking at breakout players, maybe senior guard Kahlid Rahim or junior guard Hunter Stevenson. Those were the only two other players who'll return that scored for them in the regional semis or finals last season.

No clue about what they had on the JV teams.

PRP has been one of the top teams in KY for the last two years but with Harris, Hunter and McDaniels gone it could be somewhat of a rebuilding year IMO. With that being said I expect Richard Gaines to have a breakout year. I watched PRP play about 10-12 times last season and I thought Gaines showed flashed of being a really good player. After watching the dunkfest he put on in the All Star game at Bellarmine last Saturday there's no question he's one of the top players in the 6th Region.

Nice. Agree that it looks like a rebuilding year unless there's more coming in. Hard to lose 3 kids the caliber of their trio.

Any idea what PRP had on the JV/Freshmen levels?
