Ballard's Javonna Layfield commits to Dayton

Awesome news! Congrats to Javonna and her family!

Can't find a nicer, more friendly coach than Jim Jabir. I've had the pleasure to meet him on a couple of occasions and both times seemed genuinely pleased to talk to anyone who approached him and loved to talk about his team and the players.

 

Not to mention he's taken the Flyers to a level we've never seen before in women's basketball. We were 3-25 my freshman year at Dayton; he won 12 games the very next year.

 

Last season the Flyers reversed his record from that first year, going 25-3 and winning the Atlantic 10. He's just a great coach.

 

I wish her well.

Great kid. Watched her for years develop into quite a player. She is one of the harder workers out there because she is always working on her game. Tim Barnett with FOCUS was a big part of her development. Congrats!
