College Ball

Recommended Posts

I want to start by saying I am someone who has played/coached Bball in the nky area over the last 20 years. I have also spent extensive time with multiple D1 teams in this time. This said college "signings" in this nky area and honestly the state of ky is laughable. If players and parents alike would stop waiting for their "star player" to be seen by colleges the better off they would be. Recruiting is purely marketing and sales. I talk to college coaches weekly who ask me about players. The first thing they ask...? Got film or highlights for him. Parents and players alike reading this make a demo tape asap. Now the fun part.... Send the tape and a resume (just like applying for a job) to any and every school you would ever consider going to or playing for. Granted this takes a lot of effort. Many people will read this and laugh. As someone who has used this practice I have seen both full ride scholarships for division 2 and 1 athletes in this area. I say all of this not to discredit the area but to encourage. Many talented ball players in nky settle for lesser schools bc the aren't recruited. Get yourself recruited! Good luck to all!

Don*t you feel that most parents and/or coaches are aware of this ?,,For some reason NKY just does not seem to procuce many D1 or for that matter D2 players.. Same can be said pretty much be said about the entire commonwealth..With all the schools in NKY, it just does not happen.
