Tigers clamp down in the second half, hit their FTs and pulled away for a big win.

Did you expect either team to win by such a margin? I thought Bardstown would win, but not by that much.

 

How'd my guy Schooling do?

John Hardin had a 20-16 lead midway through the second quarter, but Bardstown closed out the half with a 12-4 run, then opened the second half with a 7-0 run. John got as close as six at the end of the third quarter, but the Tigers hit a three to open the fourth and never looked back in the surprising blowout win.

 

Tavon Johnson scored 17 for the Tigers, while Seivon Schooling went for 14/11 with three blocks. LJ Cowherd had 13 points, six assists and five boards, and Keanu Young scored 14, with five of them coming in the run to start the second half.

 

Matt Miller's 19 led John, while Patrick Anderson had 17.

The last seven meetings were decided by 8 points or less, so I was very shocked that the Tigers blew them out like that. That gym at Marion Co. is blistering hot, so I wouldn't be surprised if Bardstown's advantage in depth came into play.
