Smallhoops Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Junior Greg Hamilton's old-fashioned three point play with 2 seconds left lifts the Wyverns past the Eagles in the opening game of the 25th district tournament. St. Francis moves on to face the Manual Crimson tomorrow night. A great game to start the 2014 tournament.
Getslow Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Wow. No kidding; that is definitely a great way to kick this thing off. Congratulations to St. Francis and Coach Williams. This was a 12-point game the first time around. What kept it closer this time?
Smallhoops Posted February 25, 2014 Author Posted February 25, 2014 St. Francis had a run early in the third quarter to extend its lead to 12 but Portland Christian junior guard Jacob Ryan scored several baskets down the stretch while the Wyverns went cold. Ryan hit one of two free throws with about 12 seconds left to give Portland Christian a one point lead, setting the stage for Hamilton's heroics.
