(2) Southwestern vs. (3) McCreary Central

McCreary Central limps into the postseason with a 1-22 record and an 0-4 record against district opponents. They are coached by Robert Jones and will face off against Southwestern as the 3 seed in the 3 team 48th District. They haven't won a game since December 23 and the odds are against them to pick up a win Tuesday evening. Hopefully things will begin to turn around soon for McCreary Central. It has been a long season for McCreary Central.

Southwestern is 22-4 and is the 2 seed in the 48th District Tournament. Southwestern is 2-2 against district opponents with both wins coming against McCreary Central by the scores of 81-36 and 101-59. Southwestern has won their last 6 games and look to make it 7 when they face McCreary Central. Southwestern is hosting the tournament this year and hope that being the host school will allow home court advantage to play a role in their tournament success. Coached by Steve Wright and led by Justin Edwards, Adam Isaacs and Dylan Gaskin Southwestern looks to make a nice run this postseason.

(1) Wayne County vs. Winner of (2) Southwestern/(3) McCreary Central

Wayne County rolls into the 48th District Tournament with a Bye to the Championship Game as a result of the new 3-team 48th District which came about since Monticello is now closed. Wayne Couny is 27-1 and is 4-0 against district opponents. Wayne County defeated McCreary Central 75-29 and 83-36 in their two games and defeated Southwestern 84-74 and 77-62 in their two meetings. Wayne County is coached by Rodney Woods and led by the Big 3 of Peyton Woods, Corey Stearns and Trey Blevins. A team that pushes the tempo when they can the scoring of Peyton Woods(24.9 points/game), Corey Stearns(17.5) and Trey Blevins(17.7) has proven to be hard to stop and they look to continue that domination this week. Wayne County has won 4 of their last 5 games.

Being at SW adds a little excitement but I'll still take Wayne by 10+.
