Boyd County 60 Fleming County 57

If Messer doesn't come back, more than likely people won't spend their time commenting on the panthers team. He put life in a program as laid back as the town. Before he showed up in Fleming county I had never heard of it.

He resigned today. I really hate this for they guy. He is a good guy and a great basketball coach. Maybe he can sit on the bench with his dad at Clay County next year. Hopefully things turn out good for this man.

There was plenty of life in this program before Messer. Where are you getting this stuff. They were 10th Region champs in 97 or 98 and made it to the quarter finals of the sweet 16.

Fleming will be just fine.

I believe Fleming went back to back 97 and 98. Those were 2 very good teams. After that run it started getting sort of stale.

That was 1998 and 1999... made it to the quarter finals of the sweet 16 in 1998 and beat out in the first round in 1999.

Congrats on the back to back trips to the sweet 16 what ever the years may have been. I thought that for several years after those two good teams that the panthers regularly were beaten by 40 or 50 points.

Actually, in 1998, they were beaten by Paintsville in the semi-finals on Saturday morning, not the quarter finals. We should only hope Fleming could get back to where Lake Kelly had them.

Hmm. I'm not so sure you are correct. Having been involved I believe the Panthers were beaten out of the Elite 8 in 1998.

I have thought about it and I am correct, Fleming beat Boyle in the first round, then beat Louisville Eastern in the second round and lost to Paintsville on Saturday morning, the same session Rick Jones hit the shot for Scott to beat Lex. Cath.

Lake had really talented teams. Fleming hasnt had that since and it doesn't look like there will be anytime soon
