All Region awards announced today after finals. Congratulations to all the girls who made these teams. The good ole boy mentality still around in the 10 TH. The team that allows the fewest goals all year and only one defender is named to one of the three all region teams , and second team at that. She should have been named defensive player of the year.

Might help if you had the list of winners, or the teams in question, or something other than that rambling mess of a post. Can only assume you mean someone on Brossart since they've allowed almost no goals this season.

Yep...and the Offensive Player of the Year hardly dented the net all season.

I am sure the girl from Pendleton County selected as the Defensive Player of Year is a fine player, but have a hard time understanding how a team that gave up 54 goals this season should have that honor. CCHS played a tougher schedule and gave up only 20. There are two rock solid dfenders on this team that individaully are hard to get passed. That all being said, it is tough to believe there are too many defenders in the state, let alone the 10th region that are better than Brossart's No. 4. Guessing that is who Max is talking about since they only gave up 9.

They announced the third thru first teams after the finals and rattled them off rather quickly. I would like to see the list as well.

#4 for Brossart is Sam Cetrulo. She was named to the second team and was also named to the All Tourney team. Very nice player.

After I saw orginal post on this thread, looked around for the list of who made the 10th All Region, but could not find it. Anyone have?

If that is true then let the outrage begin, but first find out how players are selected - is it own coach nomination, opposing coaches, etc. Take a look back about 5 months ago in the softball forums to see just how screwed up these post season awards/all xxxx teams can get.
