BigVMan23
Fox Creek Christian's JV team got the season started off on the right track, easily handling Galilean Christian JV 62-14 in the opening game of the JV/Varsity double header. Galilean scored the first 2 points of the game, but it was all Fox Creek after that. Galilean could not handle the Knights full court man pressure, and Fox Creek was able to convert several easy baskets from steals and turnovers. The younger Knights also looked better in their half court sets compared to their older Varsity counterparts in the later game, scoring several baskets out of their man offense in the 2nd half. The running clock went into effect very early in the 3rd quarter, making the 2nd half go by very quickly. The Knights were lead in scoring shooting guard Dalton Lewis with 20 pts. , Zack Miller with 14 and point guard Daniel Whalen with 12, who also was all over the floor on defense and had several steals and assists as well. Lewis and Whalen both will be pushing their older counterparts on the varsity for playing time as the season goes along, as will power forward Zack Rice, all freshman. BigVMan23
That score is not very christian-like. :lol2: Way to put the hammer on 'em. Haha...I hear ya. Believe me, I have been on the reverse end of MANY a whipping like that, more than I care to count. As a coach, it feels good to see the boys play that well, but on the other hand I feel bad for the other side as in this particular game they were just overmatched. I pulled the kids back with about 3 minutes to go in the 2nd quarter to a half court man. Went zone after a few positions in the 3rd qtr. Talked with the coach at half time and said we wouldn't pressure, but I would instruct the kids to still play tough defense in the 2-3 zone. He said don't worry at all about it, he was fine with it, both teams were learning and his kids were just gonna have to learn how to play. A coach after my own heart.:thumb:
