Brossart/Campbell Co - Bad District Draw

Featured Replies

Case for always having seeded Districts - Bross/Camp Co play each other first round, loser out. Both should have faced off for District title and both would have contended for Regional title. Whoever wins showdown will likely be Region 10 winner, too bad it's coming this early.

Thought Scott won the district?

That would pit 2-3 which would be Camp co and Brossart?

I guess they must have, but Camp Co has a better District record than Scott if that matters.

I'm strickly assuming here, but I think if they play a district team more than once it is preset which game counts towards the district seeding match.

What about Scott?? They went 4-0 in district seeding games (although they did lose to Campbell county twice in non-district play), and Brossart played Scott twice and never even won a set (3-0, 2-0). Scott had a better overall record, 24-11 (Campbell was 17-14, and Brossart was 18-13). You can't tell me they don't deserve the top seed. Campbell County maybe has an argument.....Brossart doesn't.

Scott 1-2 vs CC with only win going the distance to 5 sets. I would think CC could make a case for top seed. But, Scott does have some nice wins too - SK and Beechwood come to mind. But here's the thing - Scott's schedule got really soft it's last 7 games - Ludlow, Calvary, and Silver Grove for example vs CC playing ND, Cooper, Beechwood, and Ryle all in a row. Sure CC lost all 4, but who's better prepared come tourney time? Records can fool you.

Scott defeated Campbell County in 5 games in the actual district match.

The 2 Campbell County wins over Scott came in tournament matches.

The KHSAA standings sight is misleading because it includes regular season tournament wins against district opponents as district wins or losses along with the actual district games.

I understand all that - but Scott still has 2 losses to them. It's not like those losses didn't count, they still played volleyball - even though it wasn't the official district game. Should be a battle. I think Camels take it.

I agree.

One thing's for certain.

Whoever is in the district final will be in the 10th region championship match.

Ok......Scott played all 4 of those teams too, just earlier in the season. And went 1-3..so they had a better record against the "tough" competition. And Campbell county had to play Calvary and Silver Grove too. Or is that a case of the records fooling me;-)??

I'm not saying Scott is going to win the district or the region. I just don't think your argument that Scott doesn't deserve to be the number 1 (or even the two, since you stated earlier that Brossart got shafted) doesn't hold water.

I'm a Camel fan and I will say that Scott earned and deserves the #1 seed. Doesn't matter if we beat you 9 out of 10 times. If that one game was the district game and you beat us then you deserve it. We played Scott twice in different tournaments and beat them but in the district game at our own home court they beat us. I certainly don't feel we should be the #1 seed. We got the seed that we deserve and earned and have to try to win the districts the hard way. We dug ourselves in a hole and we'll see if the girls can fight their way out of it. :thumb:

Like I was saying . . Camels 3 Scott 1

Like I was saying . . Camels 3 Scott 1

And I don't think anyone was surprised about the outcome. I think the right two teams advanced.

and I don't see anyone else in the 10th beating either of them. Hello rematch.
