Top 50 Showcase

Featured Replies

The top 50 Showcase was held in Indy this past week and I got to see several NKY kids play. Several local girls played with the Cincy static north team and played against my team. (sorry don't know all their names) All I can say is good coaching beats good teams, sorry girls!!!

The tourney wasn't great in my mind as far as good teams and there wasn't a great turn out as far as coaches go. Midwest sucks in my mind, I believe they charge parents $8 a day to get in and the food sucks and the prices are high, and most of all there wasn't enough coaches there!!

I only saw about 10-12 schools represented. Some of our kids got some interest from Ball State, Murray State, and UT-Martin, so all in all, it was a positive weekend for the 18u Louisville Lady Sluggers. I pretty much agree with the negatives pointed out by JMU31, although I might add that after watching his team play, I have come to the conclusion that his kids win in spite of him................:sssh: Just kidding :D

I'd love to see Coach Meeks come watch one of JMU's coaching jobs and "ride him" like Vine St. floozy, I'd pay to see this. :lol2:

I wish he would to that way he may learn something to help those girls out...could be a rough year for the fish eaters..

Don't want to threadjack....but how is Maddie doing?

The best thing to come out of this showcase was the girls got time on the field together. Let me start by saying we went 4-0-1 and outscored our opponents by a score of 46-5. So no sour grapes about losing any games. No new balls were added to the fields in two days. Our pitchers actually stopped the game multiple time to ask for a ball that wasn't lopsided. I saw very few college coaches. I believe the entrance fee was 500+ with a gate fee for two days of 14 dollars. I wish they had made more of an effort to match up teams talent wise.

Yeah that sucks for you guys, wasn't much better at the main complex but it was better.

When I read your post all I could think about was the line from Dirty Dancing "nobody sticks baby in the corner!!"

She's been better, banged her knee up pretty good when a girl landed on her doing some type of ROTC some conditioning drill, been out about a month so missed about half the fall games and practices.

She's feeling better know and they think its ok but coach is making her get an MRI thursday just in case before returning to conditioning and individuals.

She's busy!!

Terrible, hope all goes well for her, it's got to be killin' her that she has missed playing.

How is her team looking now that she is on campus?
