The tiny mountain school hosted the mighty Blue Devils and pulled off the monumental upset. EC was pretty good back in those days and lost in the semi finals to eventual champion Ludlow. But what a great game it was with Henry Clay and what an accomplishment for that little school.

Henry Clay had a pretty good team that year. They didn't make the post season but were a solid squad.

 

Boyle beat them 28-27 in the CKC Bowl that season to finish 10-2 on the year. I think Frank Minnifield played on that team. (The former Cleveland Brown DB)
