This thread would have some validity if there were ANY posters on here that claimed that their sole goal was to be #1 in NKY. The premise presented is crap.

You may have missed the point. Stats are good. Rankings are good (the last week of the season). If one is going to compare, compare against all in class (A, AA, AAA etc) and not in particular region. Seems it may send the wrong message to the younger players that being no. 1 in NKY is the one and only goal. While that is a major accomplishment, I doubt that it is the ultimate goal of many programs. In general, the NKY folks give a lot of heat to the Lousiville teams (justified) and vise versa. Seems that their are a number of programs in NKY that want to be No. 1 in KY. Not sure those school hang their hats on being No. 1, 2 or 3 in NKY. Maybe I'm seeing it wrong! Just wish programs would have the vision to overachieve. Great things can happen when that is a significant part of the mental preparation for the young athletes.

 

The issue you are referring to isn't Nyone in NKY's fault. It's just that those members seem to be the ones making poll's etc. maybe you could make polls about teams in your area etc and so could folks in eastern and western part of the state.

^ Thanks to evryone for the input. Lots of good insight into this issue. If I was to make a poll / ranking, it would not do me, the team I support, or anyothers in Jefferson County to know that they are "ranked" in the NorthCentral Kentucky Region. One could also say the Jefferson County and surrounding counties Poll.... Just doesn't mean anything...! Now if there is a overall State Ranking in 6A, then that tells me where we are at and where we need to go to achieve our goal. The focus is on the prize at the end of the season, not the interm regional poll after week 3, for example. Good Luck to all teams this weekend. Several big games. Wish I could see all of them, but will only see one.

If "meaning something important" was a requirement to threads being allowed on BGP there would be no BGP. We're talking high school sports which, in life's big picture, mean nothing.

 

Again, your initial assumption/premise that NKY people only have NKY threads because that's all that's "important" to them is not just wrong but also simple-minded. We have a lot of simple-minded on here (read any SK thread) that when something like your post comes about some , and maybe just I, react.

 

Certainly no hard feelings though.

By the way, any thread that "rates" the entire state in any player or team category is really a waste of time. 99.99% of people who take the time to do said ratings have no real clue.

^ and ^^ Yes I understand. NO stated or implied down grading to anyone or any program. (I think I said that in the opening post) NKY football is in no doubt on the rise. Good Luck this weekend and hope to see NKY football represented in December.
