Lady Colonels remain undefeated in 10th Region play, but GRC has played them tight twice now (5-4 a couple of weeks ago). Bourbon has pounded everyone else in the 10th.

Good showing by the lady Cards. This shows they can play with the best in the region. Now just have to get that win in the post season.

Last night both pitchers had good nights Bourbons eight grade pitcher Ariel Dailey went 7 innings had 8 K's gave up 2 hits she also went 2/3 at the plate with a couple of doubles and 1 RBI for the night.

Bourbon County’s softball team claimed the top seed for the 40th District Tournament with a 2-0 shutout of George Rogers Clark Tuesday in Paris.

The Lady Colonels, who defeated the Lady Cardinals 5-4 on April 16 at Cardinal Heights, scored a run in the third inning and added another score in the fifth frame to hold off Clark, which won three games in the Western Hills Invitational last weekend in Frankfort. The Lady Cardinals will be a No. 2 or No. 3 seed to open the postseason and will likely take on Montgomery County in the first round of the district tournament in three weeks. Clark will play the Lady Indians Tuesday in Mount Sterling.

The Lady Cardinals managed just three hits off Bourbon County pitcher Ariel Dailey. Sydney Anderson launched a couple of singles off Dailey, while Alexis Hardeman also had a base hit. Dailey finished with eight strikeouts and paced her team’s offense with a pair of doubles. Jessica Stamper contributed with a single and a double for the hosts.

Clark pitcher Whitney Conkwright went the distance in the pitcher’s circle and fanned five batters. Conkwright scattered five hits and issued just one walk in the contest.
