the process? (My understanding is that he will be healthy & ready to go).

How was the noseguard play?

Not terrible.

Nice effort, good hustle.

Kid needs to add some bulk if he is going to have an impact.

On offense ahead of d at this point. But- big BUT- as you said, the defense was without at least two starters at LB and maybe a couple D linemen. I heard as many as 5 starters on D ( or capable of starting anyway) due to injury or playing in other sports right now.

 

Wagner looked sharp and tight on his passes and when he ran it out of the zone read, he had some wheels. Sam Dressman was making plays as expected from the slot and RB and Luke Bir was running like a bull.

 

I was happy with it all things considered. No sloppy play, fumbles or interceptions. I think they will have a good year.

How do the CovCath faithful think CCH will be this year compared to the past two years?

Wasn't at the Blue-White game due to baseball and it's true, CovCath was limited on the "D" side of the ball due to other sports the kids play!

 

I did however get to see the game via Hudl and I was impressed with Sam, Luke and Wags looks like he is getting there quicker than I thought he might. Came away impressed!

 

Looking forward to the seven vs. seven outings later in the year!

I think they are just as- if not more talented. Will be a matter of utilizing that talent in the best spots and circumstances. Presently Wagner doesn't have quite the arm strength as Bir or may not see the field as well (which will come with experience). He does, however, pose as more of a running threat and will tuck it and run much sooner than Blake would have. This can be viewed a couple different ways, but undoubtedly defenses will have to respect this as an option in his game much more than they did Bir. This will be more of a run oriented team than the past couple years. Getting the ball to Sam Dessman and Luke Bir in space will be important.

Hard to analyze the defense with so many starters out this spring due to injury or other sports. I do think they will be just as fast. Need to see some of the starters back when summer practices begin to speak to this better.

As has been the norm, there is one hurdle that they must find a way to overcome.....

They may overcome that hurdle someday, but it isn't going to be this year.
