NewCath vs Bellevue and Newport vs Cov. Latin were both cut short because of lightning and rain, 10 minutes after the ump's called it, the weather broke and there was a good hour window before the next wave came through and could of finished the 1st two games, however the entire 4 game schedule for the evening was wiped out.

 

That being said, Cov. Latin was down 18-2 to Newport and decide to concede the game and not return, thus moving the Wildcats in the Semi-Finals vs the winner of St. Henry and Dayton.

 

The Breds are up 5-0 on Bellevue and will pick where we left off. NewCath/Bellevue winner will play the winner of Holy Cross/Ludlow in the other Semi-Final.

 

Wednesday schedule (weather permitting),

St. Henry vs Dayton 5:00 at Bartlett Field

NewCath vs Bellevue 5:00 at Newport Vets #1

Holy Cross vs Ludlow 6:00 at Newport Vets #1

 

Semi-Finals Thursday at Northern Kentucky University

NewCath/Bellevue winner vs. Holy Cross/Ludlow winner at 4:30

Newport vs. St. Henry/Dayton winner at 6:00

 

Finals Friday at Northern Kentucky University at 5:30

 

If need be we have the field at NKU for Sat and/or Sunday depending on the weather.

BTW, nice to see you "breaking bread" with HC coaches in the dugout during the rain/lightning delay. Also, nice job of slipping my handle out when we were in the dugout, was waiting for coach Koz to look over at me and say, "so this is Lawnboy from BGP, the one who gets those cheap shots in about the bus going to Cincinnati".

I am a new man!! Wasn't really breaking bread just trying to make sure we get the 9th region tourney up to NKU and more importantly trying to make sure I have as little work to do as possible while it is up there.

 

I was just hoping Koz would knock you out!! Don't worry if he hasn't me yet you are probably safe!

Chad I think you are safe from Koz until after Maddy is gone from HC....after that Id watch your back!!! :)

The Semi-Finals are set for tomorrow at Northern Kentucky University.

 

Game One at 4:30 Newport Catholic vs. Holy Cross

Game Two at 6:00 Newport vs. St. Henry

 

Should be a fun day, as long as we win!

Newport Catholic advances to the Finals, with an 11-9 win over Holy Cross. The 2nd Semi-final game was stopped because of darkness with St. Henry up 7-2 in the top of the 6th. St. Henry and Newport will resume tomorrow at 4:30. The winner will take on NewCath at 5:30.

 

Thanks to the St. Henry dads and the Newport players and coaches with helping us put the tarp on the field before we left tonight. NKU's field should be ready to play as long as it is not raining at game time.
