Crosstown rivalries, Perry County Central and Hazard will begin to play eachother again, starting next season.

For those of you that are wondering why or not familiar with the situation, Hazard and Perry are crosstown rivals that couldn't play in the regular season because things would get heated and out of control but after several years, everything seems to have settled down.

I was told by people from this area that this would never happen,way too much bad blood. When did they stop playing each other and was there ever a specific incident that caused the feud to have them to stop playing each other?

Other than in the district tournament they haven't played each other (home and home series) since the 2008/9 season. I don't know if it was this one incident or if it was just bad blood between to in-county rivals but years ago, don't remember the exact date, Hazard and PCC were playing (at PCC) the gym was packed, barely any standing room, well that game ended up in a brawl. That might have been in first game of the 08/09 season which, according to KHSAA, Hazard forfeited that game to PCC.

 

As of now, everything has settled down.
