Holy Cross notches its first win of the season with a 14-6 win over Walton Verona. Indians pound out 10 hits and get solid pitching from 7 different pitchers. Indians had a 6 run 3rd inning that opened up the game. Callery, Webster, Kincade and Hewitt each with two hits and 2 RBI. Tiberi was 1 for 2 with 3 walks and 2 SB. Harvard Keaton pitched the 3rd inning and got the win. I believe it was his first varsity win. Indians go to 1-1 on the young season.

WV jumps out to a 3-0 lead in the 3rd off Keaton Harvard but the Indians answer with 6 runs in the bottom half to take a lead they would never let go. HC defense strong most of the night turning a couple double plays. Great combined pitching effort for HC tonight as 7 guys throw 1 inning. Only negative was they left 11 guys on base. Could have really broken it open a few times but didn't.

 

WV was led by Grant Moeves who went 3-4 with 2 doubles.

 

HC will next play in the Reds Showcase game on Saturday at 2:30 pm against Cooper at NKU. I would expect Blake Tiberi to start on the mound for the Indians.
