Trigg led from start to finish. Mackins, their big man, did not play. After the game, the ast. coach said on the radio that he had some "family problems" and they wished him luck. Not sure, what that means, but the fact the head coach didn't do the radio interview doesn't look good. Jones led Trigg in scoring but the Trigg radio guys never said how many he scored :confused:

I have now heard that Mackins and his family have moved back to Illinois. If so, this is a big blow to the Wildcats. He was averaging somewhere around 16 points and 11 rebounds a game.

Mackins' departure would be a big blow. From what I'm hearing, he's just now starting to regain some of the explosiveness he lost when he blew out his ACL last season.

 

It sounds as if Mackins doesn't necessarily get to make the decision on whether he's moving or staying at Trigg County. As the assistant coach indicated, it's a family issue.
