Featured Replies

First thing that jumps out at me from last week is the Eminence Warriors. Yes, I said Eminence. A 3 game winning streak for Coach Nethery and the Warriors with wins against Berea, Portland Christian and Heritage Academy. They will need to continue the momentum this week as they face District rival Owen County on Tuesday night.

Grant County won 2 of 3 last week with wins against Bourbon County and Calvary Christian. Tyler Carr with 34 against Bourbon County The Braves sit at 7-1 on the year.

Gallatin County is on a 5 game win streak and has most of this week off before the border war with Owen County on Friday night. GC is 5-2 on the season. The Wildcats Kristian Morgan is the NCKC Conference player of the week after averaging 22.5 ppg with wins over Carroll County and Eminence.

Owen County is back on a two game win streak with victories over NCKC Conference opponents Walton Verona & Henry County. Again, big showdown in Warsaw on Friday with Gallatin County. The Rebels sit at 6-1 after this week.

Collins suffered their first loss this week to Madison Central. The Titans then won @ Shelby County on Friday night. Collins is now 7-1 on the year.

Speaking of the Rockets, they got their first win on the road at Anderson County, 67-65.

Anderson County bounced back with an 18 point win on the road at Walton-Verona. The Anderson County Bearcats are now 3-1. Walton-Verona is now 2-6 on the season.

Simon Kenton went 3-0 on the week bouncing back from last week. The Pioneers with wins over Williamstown, Walton-Verona and @ Lewis County against Rowan County. SK is 5-3.

The Spencer County Bears went 2-0 on the week with wins against Corbin and Western Hills. The Bears are now 4-1 on the year.

Trimble County seems to have turned a corner this week. Going 1-2 on the week, but falling to defending 8th Region Champ Oldham County by 10 and then following that up with a win against Western Hills on Saturday. Robbie Brooks led the Raiders in the Western Hills game with 26 points. Evan Long led Trimble with 21 against Oldham County. The Raiders are 3-4.

South Oldham went 2-0 last week with a district win against Trimble County and non-district victory against Western Hills.

Oldham County split two games last week with a loss against Bullitt East and district win against Trimble County. Jacob Copp punched in 20 points in the Trimble County win.

North Oldham also split two games at home last week. The Mustangs won at home against Frankfort but fell to E-Town.

Carroll County suffered two district losses last week against Gallatin County and Henry County. Dallas Gibson continues to lead the Panthers this year. he had a double-double against Gallatin County (20pts/12 boards). The Panthers are 4-2 on the year.

Williamstown continues their growing pains with new head coach Roger Harden. The Demons were winless last week against 10th Region team Silver Grove and district opponent Simon Kenton.

Lots of Christmas Tournaments starting this week. Enjoy the week!!!!

Great post, enjoyed reading it.

Having watched the teams in the 8th so far this season, what amazes me is after Collins and South Oldham, is the log jam of teams that can win games and be competitive come tourney time. All the teams are improving and getting better as we head into Christmas Tournament play. District seed games are already playing out what February is going to look like.

29th District

1. South- starting to play better, getting alot of people involved

2. Oldham- players seem to be adjusting to new roles, brutal schedule so far, and gets tougher

3. North- Adjusting to new everything and learning roles

4. Trimble- have started turning the corner and will beat teams they probably should not

30th

1. Collins-getting football guys going, will get better when everyone gets acclamated and that is scary

2. Spencer-yes I rank them second, Dunbar is back and they can shoot it

3. Anderson- even though they lost to Shelby look for them to be a tough team come March

4. Shelby- really young and improving, big road win!

31st

1. Gallatin- Jon Jones and Morgan dont need anything else

2. Owen- Williams starting to be more assertive and they are playing better as a whole

3. Carroll- suffered some losses need to understand how to respond after losing

4. Henry-may be at the top by end of year, getting better

5. Eminence- Have got alot better, still have to beat some other teams that I have heard of

This district can flip on any given night!

32nd

1. Simon- when everyone is healthy they will be tough

2. Grant- playing hard and guards are lighting up the score board, Carr very aggressive

3. Walton- they play gritty on both ends transfers have hurt them

4. Williamstown- young and will struggle all season, work hard to improve and get better

Overall fun region to watch with some monster games in January and Feb

South at Oldham

North and Oldham

Anderson and Collins

Gallatin and Owen (3) times :)
