Walton Verona 63 South Oldham 47

Featured Replies

After a sluggish first quarter, Walton took control of the game. They built the lead to almost 30 points and cruised in the second half with a lot of the reserves getting minutes. Congrats on a nice win.

Also, Walton's JV team won big to improve to 3-0.

Great job Lady Cats! Starting to look more like the Bearcats I am used to seeing! And by the way, the Bearcats put down 8 three pointers from 5 different players. I guess the perimeter shooting isn't so bad after all. As long as they continue to improve defensively, they will be just fine.

That seems to be their real weakness right now. Their interior defense gives up way too many open looks and their lack of blocking out gives up too many second chance points. If they can fix these areas, I look for them to have an exceptional year.

Against Boone and Campbell it was their lack of defense vs penetration that seemed suspect. That was not an issue vs south

South has nobody that can penetrate and will have trouble scoring.
