Dunbar scored all of its points in the fourth quarter to halt a nine-year, 11-game losing streak to the Blue Devils.

The Bulldogs’ winning touchdown came in dramatic fashion — a 50-yard pass from Trent Bauer to Emory Thompson with eight seconds left.

Henry Clay rook 13-0 lead in the first quarter on TD runs by Elijah Bell and Davion “D.J.” Jackson, both of whom topped 100 yards rushing on the night. (Bell had 162 yards; Jackson had 104).

Dunbar got on the board early in the fourth quarter on Bauer’s 31-yard TD pass to Taylor Smith, but Henry Clay answered with a 43-yard scoring run by Jackson to pushed its lead to 19-7.

But the Bulldogs rallied for two TDs in the last 2:30. Antwan Williams’ 6-yard scoring run and Levi Clark’s extra point cut Henry Clay’s lead to 19-14. Dunbar then recovered an onside kick, setting the stage for Bauer’s game-winning TD pass to Thompson. The Bulldogs added a two-point conversion pass to Brandyn Duncan.

Dunbar’s defense forced five Henry Clay turnovers, including two interceptions by Duncan.

Williams led Dunbar’s ground attack, rushing for 95 yards and a TD. Bauer completed 7 of 24 passes for 118 yards and 2 TDs, and had two picked off.

Dunbar's QB Trent Bauer was the Dunbar mascot for the 1st game of the season. and then decided he wanted to play football, and how he's throwing game winning touchdowns. What a story. Congrats to Trent and the Bulldogs.
