Mack The Knife Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 In another classic in a highly charged atmosphere, the Wildcats squandered a 13 point lead in the final 7 minutes to finish 5-1 in district play. They are 10-5 overall. Gallatin led 52-39 but Carroll responded with a 19-5 run for a 58-57 lead. A Cody Perkins trey, his 6th of the game, made it 60-58 Gallatin, but the Panthers came back to lead 64-62. However, Perkins' putback with 9 ticks left sent the game to OT. In the extra session Carroll scored the only 3 points. Gallatin had a good look at a tying 3 pointer but missed the mark. These teams could meet again 2 weeks from tonight in the semis of the All 'A'. However, the Walton-Verona Bearcats will have their say in the matter.
CatFanatic Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 That sounds like one heck of a game, Mack. I am really looking forward to this years 8th Region All A. It seems like literally any team could win it this year. How did the Miller kid from Carroll play? WV plays them on Tues., which will be a preview of their first round All A game.
Mack The Knife Posted January 16, 2006 Author Posted January 16, 2006 Miller did score 14 points, but I would not consider him a factor in the contest. He should dominate the small Wildcats every time he plays. McMahon was the star of this game He scored 24 and probably close to 20 were in the second half. Gallatin had no answer on defense for him.
