Yes, you had a lousy charter, no doubt. I live in Florida now, and I use charters on occasion, depending on what we want to target. Here are a few things I have found that may help lead to a positive experience. Check the reviews on the charter, Trip Advisor often had some, as well as a few other sites. I take my son (now age 9) and his friends with, so I always ask how the captain feels about kids on his boat. Many have politely declined, and it's always good to know this ahead of time. Some just don't want to be bothered with kids or elderly. I look at their Facebook page. If we have had a week of good weather, their page should reflect success, and it will show what they really target. I don't care for the party boats too much, I believe the smaller charters are the way to go. It's always a gamble, but I encourage you to try it again. The right captain makes memories.
