  1. I completely agree with what has to be the understatement of the year so far and I mean that kindly. This score is shocking!!!! At NDA?! It's unbelievable. NDA was in the state final with everybody back but the big girl and Holmes won half as many games and made a change with the coach. Not to mention the public vs. private side of it. I think were seeing how good Holmes pressure D uptempo transition style can be with someone new who builds on the old coach's ideas and just how good the old NDA coach was who is now of course at Cooper!!
  2. You're one of the nicest guys on the site so let's please consider this together civilly. If "rookies" went with the status quo and never challenged the "hierarchy", we'd still be living in the stone age without benefit of metal, there would not be a United States of America for disenchfranchised Brits to populate, there would be no Equal Rights Amendment and women and blacks wouldn't have voting rights. There would have been no Jackie Robinson if the "hierarchy" had its way. There would be no Title IX if the "hierarchy" had its way. Daughters would not be playing high school fastpitch softball because they would still be playing slowpitch, at the demand of the "hierarchy" and not one black man would be playing football. Rebuking a "rookie" just because of the factual way he/she responds to a hierarchical post filled with second-hand info and opinion doesn't seem very fair and is akin to killing the messenger. Besides, appearances can be deceiving. I've been on the site for years just not under this name.
  3. It's a scrimmage! Not anything close to a litmus test lol. So you deliver a faulty premise as a response while making it a snarky attack with the comment about Dear Abby, which you misspelled. A litmus test would be a real game, like Week 1. Look up the words you use then try BGP again.
  4. The "hierarchy" should get their facts straight so the "rookies" don't feel compelled to correct them.
  5. Those are "reports" you're talking about, i.e second-hand information, from a scrimmage no less. But eight returning starters on defense for Cooper is a fact. And so is this: Conner gave up an average of 28.1 points per game last year and Cooper gave up fully half that, 14. Another fact: Conner has fewer starters returning on defense than Cooper, six. Fact: Conner lost its entire defensive line. Let me just ask you. How in the heck is Conner going to put on the field a defense on a par with Cooper's after allowing twice as many points and returning fewer defensive starters? Also, when you say that Cooper "lost their top 5 or 6 players" you're not dealing with facts. But I did notice how you conveniently omitted the huge loss of Cameron Fogle for Conner in that sentence. Cooper losing Morris is huge? You bet. What about the loss of Fogle for Conner? Just as huge. And since when does a scrimmage become a litmus test for a team to someone calling himself a Voice of Reason? Just the facts please in your response.
  6. I think you guys are forgetting about the Cooper Jaguars. They lost their QB sure, but they still have the best defense in local 5A and should be an NKY top 10 team. Think about this: A state finalist is returning seven starters on offense and eight on the best defense in the district and they have yet to be mentioned on this thread until this post.
  7. Mildred and Patty Hill the sisters from Louisville are credited with composing the tune Good Morning to All which was used for the melody of an 1893 ditty called Happy Birthday to You. Now that's a heckuva song...
  8. Worth noting if it hasn't been already: David McFarland is a math whiz. He was an NKU past student consultant in mathematics and they don't just hand those things out. He was just the 26th person to be designated an NKU student consultant since 2000 when he got the designation in 2010. He's not just smart at math, he's crazy smart. To shoot or not to shoot. That is the question. Whether 'tis nobler to try to score right away or wait for a better chance?
  9. Seth Hope is a beast! Heck he might be underrated if that's possible. Can't go wrong with brains and brawn. And you've got an Ivy League grad head coaching an Ivy League caliber kid right there so I also like the high absorption rate potential for Hope with regard to mechanics. High upside...
  10. New drummer in the band here so I may hit some wrong pads while I get to know your kit but if I'm not mistaken Brian Mirrielees won state in the 1,600 and Trey Jurgens won discus in '08 for Highlands. I think Tom Noe still has the 2A record in the high jump from the late 80's so he probably won state too and I'm thinking Doug Ossege as well. He held the state record in the 800 for years. I just happen to know a lot of Highlands stuff and I'm pretty sure this is correct. Congratulations to RG and JMG for doing the Bluebirds a solid.
