  2. Gregg got dunked on a couple of times from what I was told. I can't wait to read his facebook jargon now.
  3. Duck's athletic team gets trounced by Ashland. Region coming down to Ashland and Rowan again.
  4. We get it, send him a dozen red roses for valentine's day. They have one win over an opponent with a winning record, Fairview, who by the way, doesn't have a single win over an opponent with a winning record.
  5. I think we can look to the pathetic schedule as any resemblance to a strong start. They need some more Brackens, Racelands, Lewis', Fairviews and Morgans ahead.
  6. I sat straight across from the Ol Duckster. Wing is overrated. He's inconsistent from behind the line. I don't want to hear the basketball shape excuse anymore. He's been in the gym for a month. Gregg is solid. He runs his chops too much. But he can score with the best of them. Wing finally tightened up the D on him in crunchtime. I was impressed with Hart and how active he was. He's a terrific jumper. What was wrong with Egan? I think Townsend is the best player in the region.
  7. I think Russell is average. They played a poor schedule strength wise. They play Portsmouth next. Portsmouth isn't it's typical strong self. Still better competition than the Fairviews of the world.
  8. I'm feelin' ya. But let's give old Maynard some props. He voted, and it sounds like that is alot more than we can say about untold counts of others.
  9. I watched every Ashland football game and honestly, I didn't think Gregg was the best defensive end on his own team. However, I'll say congrats to all of those who were nominated. Maybe both Ashland defensive ends should have been first team all state.
  10. So far so good minus Rayburn. I'm sure his absence will be felt vs. Rowan.
  11. Who do you suggest? Heard many say how much better team unity they had with Davidson and Hunt gone because they had a close game with Rowan. That's a crock. Russell beat Fleming last year at their place handily.
  12. His daddy sat on the bench. He did that to try to win some over to hopefully keep his job. You know it, whether you would be willing to admit it or not. If he was doing Kyle such a favor, why did he not play him in the district when his daddy was out of town? Because he thought his team had a better shot? I was there Duck. It's the truth. And it's no knock on Kyle. You need a new horn to blow.
  13. Duck polishing Dodd. There's a shocker. I graduated during the Dodd era. He had success thanks to some well played persuasion and a turnover in roster. You want to talk about Ashland or Rowan or Fairview benefiting from transfers, no need to look any farther than the Dodd era in Russell. And with that in mind, from all I've witnessed on Red Devil Lane, they've dipped the bottom of the barrel. I think they're in a cycle that will ultimately doom them for years to come basketball wise. I officiated their middle school games a couple of times last season, and they are going to struggle for the foreseeable future. Dodd didn't attempt to do a thing within his own program to help build it (why would he when he could just get the Rose Hill defectors to come on board), and his successor has done nothing but watch it sink deeper.
