10 Good
  1. West Jessamine hosts Holmes at the Colt Classic on 1/15/11. Will it be a contest?
  2. A balanced attack and cutting down on the turnovers resulted in a good win for the Colts. I'm a little surprised the Generals were a preseason #14. Must of been a good feeling for Coach Kelley exacting a bit of revenge on Lafayette.
  3. Donaldson's basketball IQ and skills don't match his athleticism which is very, very good. Foul trouble has not been an issue. If he understands his role, and learns the proper technique of shot blocking, West has the potential of winning some big games.
  4. Two years ago, when West Jessamine was spanking the Australian National team, one of the Australian players, during a free throw, blurted out, "can't we just go home." I think Doss will be singing that tune from the opening tip on.
  5. Disappointing loss for West. Clearly, they have work to do and need to develop a better defensive scheme. Dixon had way too many open looks. Apart from Pohl and Strait, the offense looks a bit anemic. I hope as the season progresses, Donaldson gets more playing time. His offense is a little raw, but if he could harness his defensive skills, he could be a real game changer. It was a good win for McCreary...definitely one they can build on. I sure hope Pulaski isn't really 35 points better than McCreary.
  6. Oh well. Hey...like I said in the other thread, Danville will get better. They're a very strong and physical team. Is Pulaski really 35 points better than McCreary or did the Raiders have a bad game? I'm hoping the latter.
  7. Defensively...they didn't look real tight, which is to be expected since they haven't played together very long. Taylor looked very good which is also to be expected. I'm not sure if there is anyone who can really stop him. My son said they don't have a lot of height, but they are one of the physically strongest teams he has played against. They will win their share of games and be a team to watch out for come tournament time.
  8. Two teams expected to have somewhat down years. Who will come out on top in this game played in Stearns.
  9. Good win for WJ on the road against a very athletic team.
  10. Hey...we are thankful we're in the 12th, but we're not as bad as we played on Friday. We handled Franklin easily this summer along with Woodford, Henry Clay and even LexCath in their own tournament. Some nights you have it, and some nights you don't. I hope we can rebound against Danville on Tuesday. As far as your post...Franklin did look like a better team on Friday.
  11. Final Score...FC 57, WJ 53. West has a little work to do.
