Dave's teaching job was cut due to the budget cuts. The PE job at Scott Co is also a health which he is not certified for. Also, the rumor is that the position is going to be given to one of the girls basketball coaches. McKee does not have quite the pull to get his coaches a teaching job like he used to. Dave is a great coach and will do a great job for the Titans. Glad to see him land on his feet after the budget cuts at Scott Co. That makes two coaches Mckee losses this year. Earlier in the year Coach Burke steped down after 12 or so years on the coaching staff.

My guess is that Coach Willard will move from O line to D Coordinator job. McKee will liketly have him doing both.

Enough with these hack coaches who are just trying to get bigger paychecks from their school. Dave Thomas is serious about coaching and wants to be at Mercer Co.

My guess is that Thomas is still interested. Hopefully they will go with him... They will not regret it.

Whats it going to take for someone to give Dave Thomas a chance to make a name for himself in KY.

Dave Thomas is about 42 years old and has had around 5 or so years head coaching experience in South Carolina and Tennessee. While in Tenn he was an assisstant coach at Riverdale in Murphesborro Tenn. His team went to the Finals like 3 or 4 years in a row. They won at least one. He has two sons one was Mr. Football and the other was runner up. He moved to KY 2 years ago becasue of family. Great Guy. Great Coach. Would do a great job at Mercer. He knows how to run a successful program.

I think the guy you are referring to is Dave Thomas. He has been the D Coordinator at Scott Co for the past 2 years. He is from Tenn where he coached at Riverdale where they went to the state championship 3 or 4 times and won at least one. He has head coaching experience.

Does anyone know how long they are going to take to make a new hire? I would think they would want a new person in by the end of school. Who are those who might be interested?

I heard that it might be a defensive coordinator from a lexington area team.

What about Joe Pat Covington. He coached at Tates Creek, I think? He is already the athletic director. Also, Steve Helton, I am sure is interested
