Unfortunately a lot of people do not know about this amazing highly competitive program. There are over 300 high school and middle school teams in the state covering more than 1500 students. The state of Kentucky is considered one of the top competitive Robotics states in the US and the world. There are 18,000 teams worldwide and the VEX World Robotics Championship takes place at the Kentucky Expo Center in Louisville, and in Freedom Hall. There were 26 scheduled tournaments in Kentucky this year, including one of the largest tournaments in the World at Martha Layne Collins in Shelbyville with over 100 teams attending. This year's State Champions are Team 8349B and 8349B from Gateway Academy in Hopkinsville, Ky, which is the CTE school of Hopkinsville and Christian County High Schools.
