Disobeying an order does not justify being shot to death.
Depends on which order you disobey.
Stop walking away - nope.
Don't put your hands in that car - yes.
I don't know that that's what happened here, but if it did - absolutely justified.
-
Absolutely it does not however what it does do is makes the officers nervous and tensions run high. It makes a bad situation worse and bad things happen.
Do you agree that if he reached into the car they were justified in shooting?
Yes. Absolutely.

I thought Jordan Sparks did an outstanding job on the National Anthem before the Vikings - Packers game tonight.

Toyota was the main sponsor of the stadium at Gtown College but they didn't build the facility.
Toyota Stadium and Applebee's field was how it started. But that whole complex had a lot to do with the current financial problems Gtown faces still today.
-
Scott Co has to pay to use the college field.
The Toyota charity wagon is grossly over-exaggerated.
Scott Co Middle is the old Scott Co High building. It wouldn't surprise me if they played on what is now the practice field many many years ago.
Good to see some more Scott Co haters join the conversation.

So two schools but all athletics would be under Scott County? That sounds like it's all in the best interest of the Athletics, and not the school itself. What would McKee do if he had to compete with another school in his county? He has it made.
At one time there was talk of the second high school having their own athletic teams but sharing facilities. That idea is no longer on the table. When the new high school is built it will have its own facilities (supposedly)

Inside the track is the practice field I mentioned. The rumor is that the new super is going to put turf there so it can hold up to all the practices that happen on it.
There is not enough room to put bleachers there. It bumps up to Rt. 25 on one side and Scott Co Middle on the other.
-
But. But. But. They're down this year...
Haters gonna hate lol.
Congrats to Elder on a huge win.
-
I have heard that the new super is going to put turf on the practice field shared by all those teams. That will be a big help for all those teams.
But there will be many in the community that will say "too much money goes toward athletics"
-
Why doesn't a school the size of Scott County have a football field?Ya. Is this a temporary thing? Or has it always been the case?
Because in spite of how the entire world views Scott Co, the athletic programs are terribly under-funded.
Football, Baseball, Girls Softball, Soccer, Lacrosse, and Tennis are all played at Georgetown College or on a Parks and Rec owned field.
Basketball, Volleyball and Track (1 track for the high school and 3 middle schools to share) are on school property.
It's pretty pathetic.
I don't see that changing any time in the near future. We're too busy wasting millions of dollars arguing over the details of a new high school.
What McKee has done is impressive - even if you don't like him. There's no denying that a 6A state championship won while sharing a practice field with the middle school team, and the soccer teams is quite an accomplishment.
-
Let's see how many people I can offend in one post.
Jim McKee's a coward. His only claim to greatness is a championship when Chris Wolfe and Male choked.
Everyone entitled to his/her own opinion. And haters gonna hate.
You won't offend many. Not many Scott Co supporters on this board.

Plato, if these remarks are properly attributed, I am sad. IMO Scott Co. cannot make this work for them. They arrange for completion or they forfeit. If they forfeit it is worse for the players than an on field loss would be. I will be shocked and disappointed if Coach McKee actually used this logic attributed to him.
I linked the article so you could read for yourself what Coach McKee said in the interview.
-
Not sure other than what was already stated.
I'll try to find out from AD when I see him.
-
What was his reason for not staying to finish the game last night? Several times waited out the weather to do so. It appears that Lafayette was in favor of waiting.
I thought I read that they had to start the clock for lightning again (30 minutes starts over with each lightning strike) after the teams had already had 75 minutes in delay.

Official outcome of SC-Lafayette football uncertain until Monday - Breaking News - News Graphic
Coach McKee gives facts here that make a lot of sense.
No field available.
College visits already scheduled for kids.
Game means nothing regarding seeding.
There was no simple solution and it isn't worth the trouble of anything more than a simple solution.
I hope they make us forfeit. That scenario plays out in our favor down the road more than the abbreviated game win.
-
Coach McKee thrives on things like this.
I bet he is kicked back at Octoberfest in Cinci today with a smile on his face contemplating how either way this plays out he can use it for motivation in the playoffs when they most likely meet up with Lafayette again.

Congratulations to Kurt and to Mercer Co. This late in the school year, Kurt is an awesome hire. He has been a lot of places and has done well at just about all of them. Heck - he won a ton of games at Thomas College. You NKY folks will remember Troy Fryman from Conner - he played for Kurt back then.
He was with Happy at Gtown so there might be more "move ins" lol.
If you ask he and Kelly about their time in Hawaii they both say that it's different when you're not vacationing there. They never felt accepted.
I wish Kurt nothing but the best. He will push those kids and get a lot out of them.
-
Good stuff from Dabo.
Watching the video it seems like a non-rehearsed, off the cuff response which makes it even more impressive.
Spot on in my opinion.
-
If true, that is a great hire. Kurt is a great basketball mind and a good person.

A friend of mine who lost her son who was serving in the U.S. Army posted this:
"Those who disrespect the flag have never had a folded one handed to them."
-
So then both are equally disrespectful, correct?
My opinion - the screaming is more disrespectful. Kneeling is not actively keeping anyone else from enjoying the anthem.
Screaming pollutes the experience for everyone who can hear.
When your actions infringe on others, the offense is greater.
-
So what will have an impact?

I'm saying that argument is flawed El Pluto :lol2:
Wasn't really an argument, just an observation from a dude up in central KY who doesn't have a dog in the fight.

Generally they tell people to stop and they do.
If they don't (no matter what color) what happens after that is usually bad.
