Good effort made by Fairview! Armstrong did a very good job. Barker had a better second half than first(his 3's weren't dropping). The County played as a TEAM. CD Mayhew was called for a couple of fouls early on and sit out the biggest part of the first half. He came back in the second half with his consistent play. He was 5-6 on the free throw line. Casey Branham also was 5-6 on free throws. Good game to watch!!!:thumb:

  2. Yes,it is true that there are 9 Seniors & 2 Juniors. However they rotate several players from JV into the game. For instance, Ryan Crisp-Junior(who has done a fine job coming off the bench). A correction to the previous message-is that Chase Stephens is a Senior. Brad Blanton who is also a Senior has done an excellent job defensively also coming off the bench. Its fun watching a team play well together. Go Boyd County!!!!

Not because I know his parents, but I thought Branham hit some huge shots for Boyd in the AIT. I think his outside game compliments Selby in the paint very nicely. Boyd has the role players to win, because they are all willing to play for the "Team" and not the "Me".

Excellent win for Boyd, and I know that one game does not make a season, but this should lay to rest the idea that the 16th is one team is head and shoulders above the rest.

I still think Russell is at the head of the pack, but the pack is closer than some believed. I think any one of five teams could win the region, depending on the draw and who's hot at the right time.

    It's gonna be a good March ...

UK actually dropped to #34 in the AP Poll this week and they are not in the top 41 in the ESPN/USA Today Poll. They apparently are being punished for losing to numbers 1 and 2 in both polls. Somehow or other, they are currently ranked behind the likes of Northern Iowa, Winthrop, Drexel, Southern Illinois, Xavier, Creighton, Missouri State, Florida State, Wichita State, and UNLV.

    Madness.

    Go Cats!
