I like that Deming gave Johnson the job, he deserved it and it should translate into a pretty easy transition for the kids and program.
However, Johnson was an assistant for only one season and now has been handed the reigns to the program and that is a huge step and a great deal of responsibilty. Being completly in charge and the Main Man and leading the staff is far different then being a part of the staff and contributing. I think Johnson can handle it, but that has to be part of the equation.
I too think Johnson can handle it. He should be a good one for Deming this year and they may have a few good games against PC, Mason, and Augusta. This would be a good year for Deming to step up and show them that small schools can be just as good, heck look at what Augusta did last year. I think Deming will have a good, if not EXCELLENT, season.

I would have to say there are few old schools left out there and now with the days of the crackerbox gym we have come to large fieldhouses and forget what the old gym of yesteryear was.
Two of my Favorite Old-School Gyms:
Augusta 1926 Gym
Maysville High Gym (The now Maysville-Mason Lady Royals Gym)
Bracken County Gym

Well I honestly believe there is some good teams this year in the 39th. With what great things I saw last year I think the 39th will be most talked about this year.
Rankings:
1. Maysville-Mason (Great Coaching quality, good bench)
2. Augusta (Again Coaching quality, decent bench very little needs to be explained might be another looker in the 10th)
3. Bracken (Good team overall, like the Defense)
4. Saint Pat (Great team could have a good season)
Post your rankings and why you ranked them.

Augusta ranked ahead of Pendleton is a joke. Even the most anti-PC person on here can't honestly think the Wildcats will finish below Augusta. I am not trying to bash the players of Augusta, but the talent there is simply not even close to PC, even on a down year.
IMO I do think Augusta has a good chance over Pendleton they did lose some good talent........But even rankings can not decide which school is better, it depends on how the team plays against one another.
Though I will say, not to bash anyone, I think some of the talent at Augusta is Maysville worthy.
My List:
1. Maysville-Mason Co.
2. Clark Co.
3. Brossart
4. Montgomery Co.
5. Harrison Co.
6. Bourbon Co.
7. Scott
8. Augusta
9. Pendleton Co.
10. Campbell Co.

Remember that those large schools were once small, they just forced consolidated their neighbors. I think there will be a day when Deming, Nicholas, and heck even Augusta will show Bigger is Definately not better
