I don't want to be a finger pointer, but it seems to me you like to pick on Estill and their coach. Maybe Jones needs to find some good help. He didn't have it when he first came to Estill, but he got it later. Good times are ahead.
Good POINT 1203!!! The Staff is alot better. Tall Trees fall hard ol buddy ..... Lay off of Jones.

Congrats to Coach Combs and his staff on there 1st victory...a shutout @ that!
Congrats Lions. You all came ready to play.

:
Hoover, and Cacklin from Estill Co.Both of these guys are real ball players and they're just soph.:thumb:

I thought Estill came out against East Carter fired up and ready to win. If they come out and play all four quarters like they did the first quarter of the East Carter game, I put the win in Estill's column.

Congrats Clinton!!!!!!

Yeah it was great a few years ago when they made the 10th region tourny.
Last time we had a pretty good chance in the 10th was when Brian Kiser was a senior . He got hurt right before the semi-final game and I believe Nichlos Co. and Daniel Brown knocked us out of it. That was a fun year to travel and watch Estill. Last year we had a good team I enjoyed watching them alot .

I love the Big Train song from the Band.
Yeah that does sound good. Were in the 14th region now. Getting to see lots of new gyms .
-
Most of the time I just have supper (pizza usually) at the game in order to get to watch the JV, and I love shooting the bull.
Most of the time at away games, I can tell you more about the concession stand than I can about the gym. I'm anxious to see how Estill does this year. Good I hope.
-
Me too. Nothing I enjoy more in the winter than coming in from work eating a little supper and going to watch a H.S. game. About the only time you get to see your old friends and shoot the bull. Life is good.

LCC wins 24-21

It will be good to play at home again. I think this young team is showing signs of improvement. I'm hoping Estill pulls out thier first win.

Tall Trees why you always raggin on Jonesy. Tall Trees fall hard.....

This is not a fact. These seniors were a part of the 03 team that won 8 games. And Hoover deserves more respect than you want to give him. With the inconsistency of kids around here I think it was pretty good what he did. And don't say we celebrate mediocracy-because we don't. It hurts every time these kids lose a game. Our administration might celebrate mediocracy, but others in our football community don't.
RIGHT ON 1203. I guess if your not from around here and did'nt know HOOVER NIECE then you just missed out. He was more than a coach to his players, he was our mentor and leader even after we were out of school, never heard any body think he was mediocre around here, and Yes , we do know good football and OL' BOY it's on it's way back. I'm not 100% sure what his winning
percentage was but I'm certain it's way over .500 ,seems like I remember it being .689. If you want to Borderlard come on down here and discuss Hoovers stats with him, that would make his day.

I LOVED that double wing stuff myself. I think Estill Will have a WHALE of a team in the next 2 years if Mike Jones will hang in there. I don't think he is in danger of losing his job. The guy they named the field after never had any big success, he was just able to stay there long enough. Good luck to the 'NEERS all season, and hang in Mike.:thumb:
The name of the guy they named the field after is HOOVER NIECE. He's a very well respected Coach around here.
-
We like to call the double wing a fight in a phone booth.
-
That seems to be the trend here, small county hard to keep that steady flow of skill players . This years team is mostly soph. on both sides of the ball. 8th grade has a good crop coming up, I believe we'll keep getting stronger the next few years. Just got to ride the waves up and down.
-
Seen Clay Co. last week. They're Q.B. and #'s 85 and 20 are real ballplayers, tough to stop them three, and they have a good solid team all around them. Some of their d linemen were fast. Knott Central better be ready to cover the whole field . Home field avantage always plays in, wherever you're at.
I'll guess from what I've read and seen. Clay Co. wins it 42-20

Can a young Estill team show any improvements this week up North against Bellevue.
-
Ben Benedict and Clay Baber have both looked good to me in Estill's games. They are both just soph.'s . But then again most of Estill's team on both sides of the ball are soph.'s. Hopefully our day will come.
-
Estill County football has been down for the last few years. It's good to hear that help is on the way for Estill.
Yeah I hope so to . They've gotten away from the old double wing and are throwing the ball more, but I swear sometimes I miss the old fight in the phone booth off.
-
I hope Morgan does great this year. I worked up there in that area this winter and the town really supported there team as good as anywhere I've been. There well coached hardnosed kids.
-
From what I remember from last year I would think Lee would win the 56th this year. Where is the dist. being played at this year, if it's Powell then it's hard to beat them at home.
-
Yes it was a thur. game. There was a festival this weekend in Machester.
-
I hope so . Mike got a pretty good coaching staff with him this year and a real young team, mostly playing soph. on offense and defense. Strong 8th grade class coming up will certaily make the future look brighter for Mike.
