  1. If you're going to give an individual award to a player in the "ultimate team sport", win/loss record seems hypocritical. Placing that player on a good team will probably give you mixed results. Surrounded by better players is a good thing, but having to spread the wealth doesn't help. I believe it needs to be about stats, sos, character, & most importantly...intangibles, all within a single season. Basing it on career stats eliminates players who may have hardships somewhere along the way.

  2. @k2002j- agreed, but I am fairly certain Coach Lewis doesn't tolerate this type of play either. I think the biggest difference between Brown & Lewis is personality. Coach Lewis is far more laid back. As I'm sure Lewis has given them an earful on multiple occassions, please don't confuse his demeanor with tolerance. It seems that a few posters are convinced that Coach Lewis has turned a blind eye. You're reaching here. Maybe Lewis could try a different tactic...I don't know, I'm not part of the staff. But I know Coach Lewis, I guarantee you he is trying to find ways to rectify the situation. Time will tell, & I hope they can clean it up.

  3. Central hardin's chances of winning are slim to none....but they can keep it respectable if they can compete up front. Establish some balance on offense, nickel & dime the secondary, pick up a few on the ground & dominate TOP. Take a way the homerun defensively & maybe you've got a recipe for 28pt game or less. Otherwise, the clock will be on Usain

  4. @RickGrimes, Cecil has indeed matured, even if there is still a ways to go. He's one fierce competitor & passionate about the game & competition itself. Before Brown got there, he was packin' the mail 30x a game...learning to share the load now has been a transition for him. But it has helped him to become a better teammate & well rounded player. I'm sure "the quiet storm" will be on display tonight...especially being the underdog against LC.

  5. Rick, I agree. Not a great showing offensively for the Panthers, but our defense picked us up. The hail mary was lucky, but it takes some luck to win these kinds of games against great teams. For example...the 54yd. field goal the Tigers hit in a 15 mph cross-wind.....only to miss an XP later. 2 sides to every story. Bottom Line, Caldwell lost a heart breaker to a good team. Both are very deserving. Congrats to both teams on a great season. FWIW...if you believe in Karma, as Mark Brown how he felt losing to BG in '12 on the 'ole Hook & Ladder(Georgia Pass).

  6. PT's team speed on defense should make it tough for Etown. I also think PT's defensive front could give Etown some trouble. That said, I think Etown has become more balanced offensively this year. I think they do a better job blocking on the perimeter as well. Etown probably doesn't match PT's team speed defensively, but they seem to play well together. Should be a great ballgame. Hopefully, the turf will negate any weather conditions.
