  1. Coach you are correct about the flat routes. I was miss remembering what happened in that game thinking it was the outside run that was effective for Ballard in the second half. As for Trinity and the run game, they are going to make a lot of teams look poor at stopping the run, inside or outside. X, Male round two should be a dandy but I wouldn't sleep on PRP. If they ever stop shooting themselves in the foot, could make a nice run.

  2. The turn around in this game(not excluding the big play before half) is that X got the run game going using the speed option with Ridder and Taylor. X became a much more physical team in the second half on both sides of the ball. Male has had difficulty stopping a good ground attack this year. Ballard was the first to expose this early in the season. Trinity was to much for Male with it's ground game and Wolfe made adjustments after that game. Male is just not as big on the DL as the last few years but they are good.

  3. Trinity is 7-5 in the Wolfe era against Male. 2010 T beat Male in the State title game(1), 2011 T won both(2) meetings, 2012 T won both(2) meetings, 2013 Male won both(2) meetings, 2014 split 1-1 both overtime games, 2015 Male won both(2) games, 2016 T has won(1) the only game thus far. Hence the 7-5 record.

  4. Male's D had an entire half time break plus an extra 6 minutes to rest in the third Q while Male's O made a brilliant drive to the end zone. So don't give me the they were tired in the 4Q and that is why T moved the ball on them. T got smart and just saddled up and ran over Male for 6.5 yards per carry on the night.

  5. Classic example of group think! I have coached with and against this individual you are referencing and know these statements to be false. Years ago while his own sons were on teams he coached he did not play favorites then and he is not doing it now. Playing multiple kids at all positions given they can contribute positively during a game is to the betterment of the team, especially at the Freshmen level. It also helps in the maturation process from Freshmen to JV and onto the Varsity level. More talent will remain on the team and kids learn to compete hard for playing time. As a graduate of and former Trinity football player, I know that daily competition in practice and during games is a foundational cornerstone to our success over the years all the way back to the Jim Kennedy days. Try being a little less myopic and take a bigger picture view. Go Rocks!

  6. Trinity is good this year but still has a long way to go. The offense while running the ball well so far in two games has been impressive, T is not nearly as effective with the passing scheme through those same two games. Nor where they usually are at this point of the season looking at historic numbers under BB. This game will tell as much about Trinity as it does about how improved Lafayette is from last season. Has Trinity's passing game been less effective due to the callaber of the Tennessee teams or is it a problem spot this season. Conversely Has Lafayette looked so good because of who they have played(no disrespect to those two teams intended). Friday will be telling for both teams.

  7. Trinity will be there in the end and once again be waiting to come out for round two of what has become a yearly two game saga. This may very well be the year X can finally throw the knock out punch and take home the crown but to do that they will have to stand and take everything the Rocks will have to give and thus far X has not been able to do that. In 2005 Trinity on paper had no business winning the Title against an X team most fans on both sides acknowledge as being one of the best teams ever. This year reminds me a lot of 2005. We shall see what will be.

  8. My sons team played them over the summer and Cory pitched. He gave up 2 runs in that game. So to only give up 4 all summer that is great. There are several good pitchers in this area of the state to say on one is better than another is silly. There is a lot that the pitcher can't control in a game and in high school you have to depend on the team to help a lot.

What does that have to do with the talent level of the pitcher?
