  1. Yes you are right, mercer had no choice but my point is that in the early 90's mercer and harrodsburg almost mergered there was a vote back then but it didn't pass so this is not something they just thought of it has been a possibility for many years
  2. I don't dispute either point, but I still don't exactly see yours, whether it had happened then or now the outcome would have still been the same...harrodsburg disolves to be incoporated with mercer however, it was harrodsburg's decision to merge not mercer's
  3. I agree whole heartedly, I guess we will see how good of a coach marty jaggers is.
  4. If this is the case then I admit I am wrong, but you play the hand that is dealt
  5. I am sorry but they would not merge a school just to have a state championship the financial situation was solved by the merger not by the better football team. However with that said I can see people's animosity towards mercer there are a few mercer fans that like to toot mercers horn just a little bit over zealously and that does not sit well with other fans from other schools people don't want to hear stuff like mercer has 6 running backs that could start anywhere in 2a that is just asking for people to get annoyed I just take a little exception to the statement that the merger was done for athletics if that were the fact they would have done it many years ago when harrodsburg was much, much stronger, like when they had Dennis Johnson and Craig Yeast so that kinda kills that statement
  6. I agree that there schedule is very weak and that may end up being their downfall but I don't think their district for next year is that tough although once out of district is when the woods get a lot thicker. They will have to be respected even in 5a and yes you are right the wow factor will be gone but they are solidly coached and will be a force in 5a.
  7. I was going by the original pdf I wasn't aware that they were playing up, but that still does not change the fact they will be competitive with those teams however I agree they need to prove that they can before being mentioned in the same breath with teams like that
  8. That is a moot point if they are as good as people say then it should not matter when they play those teams, they should be competive and compete each year I think a lot of people forget that the Harrodsburg Mercer area has been talent rich for many years with players like Dennis Johnson, Craig Yeast, Julius Yeast I could name more but I am not going to. Also Highlands and Cov Catholic will not be in 5a. Mercer's district next year is a little harder but not that much(Lincoln Co, Pulaski Co, South Laurel, Pulaski Southwestern) Look up the allignment for 5a there are some very good teams there but mercer will be right there with them.
  9. Yes there is just one Superintendant Bruce Johnson and he is over the entire system from elementary to high school.
  10. I disagree. check the numbers mercer would not have been close to 4a
  11. Like I said the classes are smaller for each class so the classfication for each class is a smaller band range so in this case mercer will be a small 5a school. I don't agree with the new classifaction because of the fact that there will be so few schools in each class. Also in all reality most 3a schools go to 5a 4a go to 6a there are exceptions. Yes mercer is a 3a school this year by classification but the classes are not realigned each year so mercer stayed in 2a
  12. This is correct students have classes in both buildings so the campus is not independant in that mercer co goes to mercer and that harrodsburg goes to harrodsburg the students are intermingled at each school depending on what classes a student wants to take and where they are offered
