Do we have an up to date website for stats?

Boys are excited about the big game. I went by mossy bottom last night and Fairview was still at the field at 7 so i know their practicing hard. I predicate our first couple of plays to be rough. If you noticed they ususally are if we start out on offense. The team will then get settled in and it will be good old ORANGE CRUSH taking it home.

Well the write up today in the Daily was more than i expected. I figured one line "Raceland Wins". Incognito was right. The Rams have a great fan base and student section that will drive to every away game. The actual problem was not so much we were cheering it was that the Nicholas crowd was not. My thought still remain with good or bad you cheer and lift your team up. No one was even cheering with their cheerleaders. From my understanding our girls were unable to cheer so the crowd and student section picked up the slack. Thoughts and predictions for the Fairview Game is up lets continue and that thread.

Which newspaper are you guys referring to?

Do you know of another paper that will be giving this game coverage? I imagine the Greenup News will. As far as the ref's are concerned after many years reffing games i realize no game is totally fair. This is football. There were blantent things going on. It also seemed like the spotting of the ball was an issue. One of the biggest. No room for complaints with the score being what is was but no team needs to play the team and the officiating team. The Nicholas County coach and their photographer also told our crowd to shut-up. It just set the game up for poor sportsmanship across the board.

I cannot find the game on the radio this morning and i havent got my paper but from what i am hearing we wasnt reported on. Can anyone verify this for me.

Not to get another debate started, this is merely an opinion but the ref's tonight were some of the worst I have ever witnessed. I believe one was officiating our LCA game. They were flag happy along with not calling for players getting kicked etc...

The boys are on the way home. Great job by the defense. Grizzle did an excellent job hitting his targets. Mullins played a nice game along with Carver . Several sacks for Forrest and Thompson. Forrest almost came up with a TD. Thompson ran for a TD off a Nicholas County fumble. Great job

I haven't heard any practice reports this week, it is early in the week though. Does anyone have any reports as to how the practices are going for the Rams this week?

Practices are 11:00a.m.

They are usually lasting until 2 or 3. They plan on continuing having these early practices and a team breakfast to get the boys ready to play like the team that played aganist Bath County.

Mesh that combination together with depth and a great coaching staff and you have a football team! If your Wildcats can get the Stevens kid back at 100% you could make some noise down the road leading into the playoffs. "hammy" injuries are hard to heal though, I hope and pray he can come back 100%.

After being there Raceland is the team to beat in the district. Stevens was out for the game dressed in street clothes. He should be back and ready to play next Friday at Rowan County. The Bath County defense had their mits on Grizzle a few time but he slipped away. Not having Stevens also hurt on the defense almost as much as on offense. Raceland is for real and from what I saw the youngsters are the work horses. Nothing to be taken away from the seniors but it was the Sophmores bringing this one home. Maybe the two can meet in the playoffs and see what happens from there.

We think the world of our younger ones but our defensive line is a line of seniors. Some also playing on the O-Line. If it wasnt for the seniors the younger ones would not get where they are. The first two touchdowns were seniors. I think making comments of this nature separates the team. The team from what i understand for the first time in awhile played team ball where they mixed it up for everyone. The important thing is that everyone was happy with the game.

Let's all go watch some football. Its football weather. High hopes for the Rams in coming home with the victory. I heard were taking four buses so its my hope with have an enthusiastic and supportive crowd.

Rams had a good defensive practice yesterday. Mullins and Boyles looked great, I think Chambers is at about 80%. The rams are ready for this one. They arent going to let anything stand in their way of a rematch with LCA.

Defense is hungry to start play again and ready to go.

Any updates on how the Raceland J.V. are doing ?

They are practicing hard. I believe they will have a match up on Monday at home against Russell. It should be one to go to.

Just curious but was this game at Berea? If it was did it rain because viewing the skys at Rockcastle it looked nasty that way yet it didn't rain a drop at the game in Rockcastle.

Game was at Raceland in rainy conditions. The rain cleared at half-time. Conditions were extremely wet on the field.

Dont have a final score but last we heard it was Paris 22/ Fairview 16

It will be good for them to go through another mini camp. Hard work and dedication is the key. Football season is just not long enough for my benefit.

The team is out for breakfast this morning. They are coming together as a team. They have worked hard this week. They have had longer practices. Team work will make this a great homecoming. GO RAMS!!!

This arguing among adults results into arguing among players. Practices results into players blaming each other for missed plays. They hear parents at home ranting and raving about playing time. We have heard other parents asking other coaches if their child can play for them. How do we expect our kids to behave if this is what they hear at games and at home. Take it from the players. This a team. They are part of a family. You are embarassing your child when you act this way. The coaches want your child to succeed. Why wouldnt they? It reflects their coaching and your childs hardwork and dedication. If you do anything for yourself and for your child or friend talk positive. You will feel better and so will they. Pray for our coaches and players. Pray that if they come together as a team they will all come out shinning.

It would be nice if some colleges take a Sunday and put the movie (Rudy) in just to remember to keep perspective.

There are several boys that we know that are not big linemen. They are quick off the ball and can play several different linemen positions due to the fact they are quick. I do want to say that they have been told more than once by scouts that they need to be bigger. If they cant be taller they need to put on 50 pounds. What ever happened to the days when technique and being able to take a hit and give one mattered.

Thanks for the info but you still have to show up and be ready to play. If you overlook any team you are setting yourself up for a loss. It has been said many times before that any team can beat you on any given night. So as Oldrambler said, fear no one but respect all!!!

The boys seem to be working on getting that team work mentality back. There are not discussing the loss as to whose fault it was. They will tell you we win as a team and we lose as a team. They will go into this game backing their entire team. They have faith in their quarterback and feel that they will be back on track for Friday night. I was impressed with some young men when they refused to point fingers. Hard work as a team is what they said will get this team back on track without all the hype. Just hard nose football for the rest of the season.

Why is Berea so bad?

Let's remember that a great majority of the boys read our quotes. The main thing to remember on any given night a team can be great. The Rams need to want this win. They need to stay focused and not get the big head thinking any team is an easy win. It seems our team may have a case of I will prove you wrong. Reverse pyschology may be the key. I am going to go with the Rams losing just so they can get mad and prove us all wrong.

Everyone needs to come out and support the Rams. I have been told that they will be doing their traditional Turkey Bowl. A bonfire might be in the works and decorating the streets on Thursday. All fans young or old is invited. Lets show these fine young men all is not lost. We are right behind them. All fans are invited to tailgate with the touchdown club. Make homecoming a special night for all. GO Rams!

We also know the one fan you are referring to. & this is not the typical Ram fan as I am sure you are aware.

JV game will be at Coal Grove starting at 6:00. I did find out later from some of the ones you know i am close to, who they were and that this was this usual. They agree with everything you said. The boys are ready to play and get back on track. On Friday and Saturday some had made theirselves physical sick. I think they thought it all had ended. Thats why i want everyone behind them and to encourage them to stand tall.
