  1. I wasnt saying knock really- just that some programs that are bigger like Owensboro get high profile coaches like Breeden and have a higher turnover but still reach the goal everyone wants- Rupp. I am not sure a turnover every now and then isnt good for some programs but you are correct stability and someone who loves the program is always a plus- sorry I took things the wrong way.

  2. As far as the next big stars behind Watts...

The young guard that West Jessamine had last year- He can play! Polson?

Jamel ??? from Mercer County might have the best raw talent in the region- tall, lanky and can run the floor well

Agreed Jones from SW can play so can Aumiller ( Boyle Co) Cannon from Casey County. PG from East is pretty good also.

  3. I would think Bourbon would start with est Head Coaches and then work there way down.

Some College Coaches looking to get back into Central KY

Hammonds- at West Jessamine has Bourbon ties and has been successful

Moore at Menifee is a possiblity

Assistants- Hundley would be a great great choice- LeMaster needs a year or so but if an older coach came in that could groom him for the job?

Lots of options- tough district but great location and some talent back. The job has potential- plus at the next realignment doubtful that district stays in tack....

  4. Agreed- funny I like the quote own all the keys to the kingdom. I think Somerset has lost a quality person first and foremost- loved the kids and was coaching for the right reasons!

Now for the rumor- cant see wayne county opening up because of a move but I would think Somerset will give it a shot at getting the dean of the 12th region.

  5. West seems to always be in the hunt- they have been the last two years but never really seem to be mentioned as a real threat? Why not?

Wide open is the reason the 12th will be fun next year- we wont know until Feb who the real contenders are- then it is a matter who gets how at the right time and good district draws in the tourney.

  6. Wayne County , Boyle County and McCreary will get early season publicity. Dont know if any of them have what it takes to get to Rupp- all have great players and some great kids back but all have holes also. These three porb get early season picks.

Mercer County is talented, East will also be extremely better this year, then SW, Lincoln Co, Pulaski County and West always seems to be there in the end should be mentioned in the next tier. I would imagine Rock and Danville being much improved. Also Garrard County had a nice season and return several starters.

Point is look at last years Preseason Polls- they were pretty much off other than Lincoln toward the top. Seems certain teams might not get the Pub but always are there at the end of the season- dont see what the 12th would be any different this year- wide open but a couple coaches will get certain teams a chance at the title- should be a fun and exciting year in the WIDE OPEN 12th :dancingpa

  7. I agree big shoes to fill- Boyle one of the best programs the last couple of years. Interesting quotes in the article- Lincoln pretty dang good but Pulaski Schools not very good anymore more or less because of the split with SW and Jessamines not very good because of the split. 12th region is pretty balanced at the top I think he will see very soon.

  8. Coach Jones is a great Coach and well deserving- some really good coaches in the 12th. Dont think all the above mentioned teams were ranked very high in the 12th region polls- If I remember West was either not ranked or tenth- Somerset was I think 8th or 9th and McCreary was top 4. Either way Jackson, Woods, Jones, Hammonds, Thacker, Shultz, Bottoms, Flynn, and many more are all good coaches. Sometimes because a team has success we over look what they achieve over the season. Only a couple of teams have had 20 win seasons in the 12th over the last 2 years or so and McCreary is one of them so hats off to Jones and his kids along with the staff and community they should all share in the success of the program

  9. West had only 1 returning starter and 2 points and 1 rebound back from last years squad- was to be a down year- they will be young next year as well but the program seems to be in good hands.

Congrats to Lincoln they are a class program and hope they do win some games at Rupp- they are a very well coached team and have great high school players!

  10. Lincoln is to much for either of the three Pulaski teams. Lincoln by over 15.

Dont think West Jessamine is in Pulaski County- pretty sure it is in Jessamine County. Lincoln is def the favorite and should win- but pressure is on them and they know it- other 3 teams have nothing to lose- funny things happen at March Madness so lets let them play it out and wish all three teams good luck and whom ever it is lets get a W at the state tourney for the region over the 8th

  11. I would have to agree with LC Pats fans- Lincoln isnt getting much respect being in the top 25 and winning 25 games this year. I would also say that West Jessamine gets no respect either. Not even a post that they beat Boyle County last night. Seems Lincoln County and West Jessamine have been the 2 best teams in the 12th the last 2 years and could meet again in the finals? I think from Danville south no one really cares about the top part of the 12th!

  12. Somerset Program- Class and competitive

Coach Thacker- Class! Good Coach and does well for his kids.

District Game vs Pulaksi- Rival Game- anything can happen in those games. Bottom line- They are in region- only 8 teams have a shot at going to Rupp now and they are one of them- what more do you want than a chance. I dont think the people of Somerset can get a better coach for thier program- and to be honest the program is in good shape!
