Catholic's defense, particularly the secondary, was awful. They missed assignments, weren't even close to making tackles, and didn't appear to like a lot of contact. They will have to get a whole lot better on that side of the ball if they want to challenge Highlands.

FINAL 63-14. Note to ESPN family of networks: The next time you want to show Kentucky high school football....show Trinity!
-
63-14. Thank heavens for the running clock mercy rule. But it still ain't over yet!
-
Looking at scores from Friday 8/24 and Saturday 8/25 I counted 54 winning teams that scored in excess of 40 points. There were still 16 games without scores entered yet. My question is are the offenses that good across the board this year or are there a lot of bad teams playing a lot of bad defense? Some of these scores are ridiculous!

56-14 with 11:20 remaining.
-
56-7 Ensworth. If this was a boxing match it would have been stopped early in the 2nd quarter!
-
49-7 and still a long way to go. Really disappointed in Catholic. All these ESPNU viewers will think KY football is awful.
-
42-7 on another long TD run by #15. Final margin is the only thing in doubt. Ensworth's coach will just have to decide how many more he wants to score.
-
Pick 6! 35-7 Ensworth with 2:09 before half. This is men vs. boys.
-
This Catholic defense has more holes than the Bluegrass Parkway - and that's a lot! TD Ensworth 28-7 with 3:41 to go before half.
-
TD LexCath! Great throw and great catch, but unless the defense decides to hit someone Enworth will keep piling on the points. 21-7 early 2nd qtr.
-
Ensworth has just 425 students in grades 9-12 and that includes females.
-
Mismatch! Lexington Catholic's defense has no answer for #15.
-
Tough break for the Knights. LC was driving and the receiver dropped a ball, but the refs thought he caught it and ruled it a fumble. Catholic's QB has been impressive, but he doesn't have enough help tonight.
-
Huge mismatch...14-0 Ensworth and it looks like they can score on every play!
-
Riverdale 47 - Ballard 7 in a final. Same old story for the Bruins - a lot of athletes, a lot of talk, a lot of hype, and a lot of disappointment every time I see them play.
-
Agreed! I have heard they have one of the premier kickers in the state and a big offensive line to open up holes for Mr. Britt. They won't be hanging their jerseys up after week 1 of the playoffs this year.
-
You better hope that business doesn't lead them to Highlands. They are scary good. Look what they did to Scott County tonight. Highlands hung 47 on them in the first half alone. That's the same Scott County team that played in the 6A title game last year!

I have watched a lot of football over the years and I have never seen referees make a 34 point difference.
