  1. The only possible steal might be Matt Walls from Scott County. He has yet to sign and is considered by many a low-level Division I player, but he might be a good signing for UK if its too late to grab any quality unsigned players.

Dont think they need another Porter on their team...Walls should go to mid major school and have a good 4 years of ball and get a good education unless he wants to walk on at UK

  2. Hardymon, White, Groves and Cummins were all seniors.

I believe they return two starters, Staggs and Shawn White who will take over point guard duties from his older brother.

Chris Mofford will be called upon for scoring next year as well as his already honed defensive ability.

The rest is probably still up in the air. Losing four seniors always takes a toll on a small school like A-Town.

  3. Hope this doesn't effect former Kentucky boy Cam Thoroughman, who redshirted this year at WVU!

He played at Greenup or Lewis Co.? Which one?

I have met this kid before, when he was in Kentucky and I think I recall he was a Kentucky fan. I had no idea he was at WVU! If all else fails, I say we lure him in as a transfer. I wonder if he could play without sitting out a year since he was a redshirt. He is a really great kid.

Where did he play when he left the state?

    Any stats?

  4. That's what I've been wondering about this whole time with talk of a presser either today or tomorrow...Why would he announce he's going to UK before the trophy presentation back in Gainesville...That just doesn't make sense to me...

I have to agree. I have been playing this thing by ear, not coming to any assumptions or conclusions. I have many reasons to think he will come to UK and there are some reasons that it just doesn't make sense, one being a press conference before Billy is presented the trophy in Gainesville.

Having read numerous posts on the topic, it's really hard for me to say what's going to happen but one thing is for sure, I'm freakin nervous! GOSH! :irked:

  5. I voted for Durant. He is the best player in the country. But, Oden will the number one draft pick. You can build your NBA franchise around him. Maybe the Grizzlies will get lucky and their ball will be pulled out first. Then Billy D and Oden could build a franchise. LOL

  6. It seems to me that Dickie V thinks he is doing Billy D a favor by telling what's bad about taking the UK job. He doesn't want to see Billy brought down by the negative criticism bestowed upon a Kentucky coach from many True Blue fans. I understand where he is coming from. But, someone has to take the job and as Digger and Bilas said he could be a basketball god in the bluegrass if he were to restore the intimidation that once underlined the program.

  7. Again ima say this one more time...I didnt start this thread to compare Chris to JJ Redick...I started to inform that he may attend pre-draft camp to see where stands...Doubters will doubt and chris will continue to do what he does...If you can shoot like JJ and Chris there is a place for you in the NBA...It just depends on what team drafts you and if you fit that system...Chris would go in the first round this yr (name me 30 better guys that are better than him right now) but pretty sure he will go back to school...So, for all the posters that are saying he cant do this and cant do that, there game tape out there to prove it...So please no more JJ Redick comparisons

  8. Haha Mrs. Lofton was my 7th grade English teacher and Mr. Lofton is a heckofa man. You are lucky to have such great relatives!

I agree that he will turn heads because he is the best shooter I've ever seen. But that doesn't mean they will use a top 20 pick on him. I hope that I am wrong. I think he would be happy just being in the first round. It would be a better situation for Chris to slide a little bit in the first round as well so he will land on a better team. That team will be VERY lucky to have him!

Thats exactly what i'm saying...If he went to a team with a superstar, like the Lakers, who need a shooter with Kobe...Dallas, Detroit, Denver, San antonio...any of the teams that are competing for a Ring...add a shooter like chris to come off the bench and contribute and they will take him in the 20-30 range this June...He does well at camp, he moves up...But i'll say right now hes between 25-30 picks right now...all he can do is go up

  9. Its always good to have support! :thumb:

I agree with what you say too. If he isn't projected top 20 (and he won't be) he will come back. His parents are great people and won't let him make a bad choice. Chris has a good head on his shoulders and knows what another great year in college and a degree could mean for him in his life...

I know they are great people (Related to them)...But i think Chris will turn some heads at Pre-draft camp and might sneak up there close to around that number...Put him on a team with a superstar or 2 and he will be good...I know a couple of teams that could use him and his shooting right now...But wont hurt to give it a try :thumb:

  10. Wow. I'm a Mason County guy and a HUGE Chris Lofton fan, but he will not be a lottery pick. Teams will not use a pick that high on a player that they have "doubts" about. I am not saying that he doesn't have lottery pick ablility because he does. Teams just won't take him that high and will be proved wrong once again, just like he did in college.

    And I Agree with you

  11. I know its important for chris to get a degree and everything but if he works hard and helps his stock out by being between that range i said earlier about 12-20, then he will leave and make the jump...If hes not within that top 20 then he will be back next yr but next yr will be a drop off because of the talent next yr that could come out...And i didnt open this thread to talk about Redick, thats already been talked about...this is about Chris and his decision to go to pre draft camps...and yes Chris can dunk!!! just hasnt done it in a real game for some reason

  12. I feel either way if he goes this yr or next, he will be a late first round pick early 2nd...If he does really well at the camp and can get between that 12-20spot pick this yr, i would go...Because next yr with the guards that could come out, i dont see him being that high of a pick next yr unless like you said Camel, he has a great yr injury free

  13. Tubby Smith is gone, yet fans keep talking about him...Just let it be and hope UK gets a good coach to turn it around...Its done and over...You guys wanted him gone, so hes gone...Tubby has taken responsibility but right now hes at minnesota...let the A.D. take care of it since he likes to try to play hero and save the day

  14. People please stop bringing guys who are stars on their team and saying "what if"...Chris would not be the player he is if hes at UK and not UT and the same with Brewer...Now what if Brandon Stockton went to UC or Josh Carrier went to UT and was doing the same things Lofton and Brewer and everybody else UK missed on...we would not be having this discussion...And to make a good point: I think the program personally went down when Narnhardt became AD after C.M. Newton...The A.D. plays a part as well as the Coach...Maybe the UK fans should be wanting him to resign or leave instead of Tubby...But i'll guess we'll see in the future which decision was best
