  1. I don't want to hijack the thread but I would debate that supposition because Boyle beat the Admirals that year and went undefeated in the Regular season behind Neal Brown (UK) and Johnson (Georgetown) and a young Leffew. But the Rebels fell in the playoffs under the spell of Bourbon.

The ads went 9-1 in the regular season. I have the game on tape. Danville outplayed them. just lost onthe scoreboard. Turnovers, a dropped touchdown pass to clifford berry, a tipped pass in the secondary down the sideline that happened to fall right in timmy crawfords hands that went for a td. I know all about it. In my opinion the ads were the best team in AA that year. Like i said, they beat the state champion by 30.

  2. when you say d1 players on the same team I mean graduate in the same class. When donnie redd was a senior i believe chester ford was a sophmore. His sophmore year he was not like he was his senior year. Get my point? Since 1988 i bet there have not been more then 10 guys go either div 1 or 1aa. 1aa guys, Joe Ganns(eastern), Ryan trachsel(murray state) Fuqua(wofford) baughman (western) Penix ( eastern) Collin Rogers(Furman). Thats about it. That would make 11 D1 and 1aa. Now, there are a lot of guys that could have but didnt bc of grades.

  3. Fuqua went to wofford. Not D1. They were in seperate classes as well, and they did not win a state championship that year. They should have. They lost to lex. catholic on a hail mary after Danville beat them by three td's during the regular season. Now, that was a team with 4 div 1 players on it. Danville beat the eventual state champion by 30. Bourbon county finished 4th in our district.

  4. You could argue for Couch based on the fact that USA Today named him their first team QB on their all-time high school football list amongst names like Randy Moss, Charles Rogers, Emmitt Smith, etc.

AND THE FACT THAT THE GURU BILL WALSH SAID AT THE TIME THAT TIM COUCH WAS THE BEST HIGH SCHOOL QUARTERBACK HE HAS EVER SEEN. HE DID NOT SAY THAT ABOUT BROHM. PLUS COUCH WENT TO UL. WHO LIKES UL?

  5. Derek Smith could be the 3rd down TE. Jacobs was the state's 1st Mr. Football, Smith finished second in '98.

In that case, Harp could be the second. He started over half his junior year over Derrick Smith. He was much more physical. Harp would hit you right in the mouth. Thats why the staff was going to redshirt Smith the next year to stagger the two apart, and because harp was going to be the starter. That is why D. Smith went in the draft early. Even though harp was a qb in high school

  6. Louisville does a nice job with their lineman and I am sure they will love his size. He would be a good fit for the Cards. They wouldn't be recruiting him if they didn't think he could develop.

Not necessarily true. One big school could get on a kid and then everyone else jumps on the bandwagon. Especially in state. Say nebraska offers and ul and uk do not. Both schools will catch all kinds of flak for not recruiting the kid. So they do. I am not saying that is the case, but...

  7. an over or under defense is not an overload to one side. Just read what you wrote and tell me if that makes sense.

"its a form of 43 defense where backers and line shift if needed to where if may to overload to one side." What? It is not an overload. It is predicated on the first down lineman in a 4 down front to the strong side, be it a TE, the field if there are no TE's, and also the field with two TE's in a balaced formation. If i have a 1 technique to the strong side then it will be an under, which is generally coupled with a 5 and 9 technique as well if the TE is strong. On the backside there will be a 3 and a 5 tech. There are variations to an over and under that get into other techniques and shades. An over would have a 3 and a 6,7 or 9 tech. front side. There are other things to consider but i dont need to go too much into depth, i've probably lost you already. It is still a balanced front. That is what you are looking for on defense for the most part is to balance out the offensive formation. Why would i overload on defense, just so the offense can run a play away from it? Think about it. What question do you have that i cant answer about the game? nothing. Not your fault, you just don't know the game other then from a fans perspective and that consist of watching the ball after the snap. I dont watch the ball. You learn that way. Why do you think they had the long field? As i stated before they had 7 turnovers. That's why. Goodness gracious.
