  1. Shortly after the disappointing loss last Friday night Victor Anderson attached a note to the front of his football locker apologizing to his teamates for coming up short inches (on the 4th down of their last pocession). He said if someone was looking for him, he'd be in the weight room, (pushing himself) so not to be denied inches again. He told the guys he was sorry for letting them down.

The note on his locker was replaced with the following:

    Win as a team,

    Lose as a team,

    Band of Brothers.

This attitude is why St X wins year after year. They may not always win the ultimate prize but they are all winners. These are the lessons that they will take into their adult life and be successful. WE are...St X!

  2. First off, congratulations to all of the St. X seniors, you had a great 4 years. Good luck and enjoy the rest of your senior year.

The Tigers will have to replace a lot of talented seniors next year, 19 of 22 starters were seniors.

The offense does return a good group of experienced running backs in Anderson, Eckman, Simmons, and several key linemen; O'Daniel, Ott, and McDonald. Zoeller got a lot of good experience this year at QB and should be a lot more comfortable running the offense next year. Simmons may see time at WR along with Passafiume, and Hottell. Look for Anderson to have a break out year if he can stay healthy.

The defense looses all 11 starters. The D-line should be the strength of the defense at the the beginning of the year with Androla, Smith, Carpenter, and Meyer all getting quality playing time this year due to Glaser's substituting style . Barito and Huelsman played a lot of DB and Bisig got some good minutes at LB. Corwin Hammond, a transfer from Trinity will get a look at LB or DE next year. The D should be a bit faster next year.

Look for some players out of this years sophmore class to make an impact next year. Besides Zoeller, Smith, Carpenter, Simmons; Gahm, Hale, Bosscher, and Slayton are sophmores to watch. DJ Hall and Deuce Finch are two current freshmen who could see some playing time next year.

Early talk is Brad Schmitt, Matt Smith at tackles and Jeff Androla and James Carpenter at guards with Matt Meyer as part of the rotation. All got quality time this season. These guys will probably be 15 - 20 lbs heavier per man than this year and will be faster! Nice start to rebuilding a defense.

LB's and secondary got good reps and should fill out a very nice defense for 2006. Bisig, Barrito and Huelsman all solid this year. A couple of rising Jr's should fill in the gaps.

  3. As a future HS parent I heard Glaser speak to a group of jr high students and parents...though he hardly even talked about football (which surprised me), he took several opportunities to talk down Trinity, mostly dissmissing programs and facilities. (FYI, this was a predominately StX feeder school function)

I've also heard Roger Burkman speak to parents about Trinity, and he never spoke ill of StX, even when audience questions invited him to do so.

I honestly was turned off by Glaser's arrogance...

My son went thru the process of checking out both schools. We heard all about 'trinity football' from the coaches there, we also heard about...'trinity football'. With coach Glaser we heard about acedemics, we heard about 'develoing young men', we heard about the tradition of St X. to my son's surprise we heard very little about 'St X football' and heard no "Trinity bashing". What you mistook for 'arrogance' is really coach's intense PRIDE in what his program is about at ST X! My son chose ST X.

  4. X will lose numerous starters as usual. Offense : 7 starters plus key subs in rotation but have good experience on line and of course Vic coming back. The toughest replacement is Brent curley - great leader and a winner! Defense: 10 starters plus key guys in rotation... hear the defense will/could be very strong next year. D-line supposed to have great potential. Glaser does a great job of getting the younger guys game experience so they are ready to step in. As always, Tigers just re-load!

  5. What will next year's squad look like? Also, I would like to congtatulate this year's Seniors on a great career!

I would like to also congratulate the seniors, great group of young men. As for next year the running backs will be super (don't forget to include Drew Eckman in there). I think next year the focus will be back on the strong defense they will have (as in years past). The D-line should be dominant.
