  1. Corbin played hard throughout the game, I don't really think that depth played much of a factor. Corbin's passing game just was not working at all and in hindsight maybe would have had more success running behind their big line. NewCath's defense was good though and created problems that the Hounds just did not solve, so it's just conjecture to say that something else would have worked.

You got it. There D Line was disciplined, how many ball did we have batted down, hard to get the ball movin through the air with a big paw up there in the air.

  2. I appreciate your kind words. Caleb feels as if he lost the game for the Hounds. But as we all know the game never comes down to one play. However, try telling that to a young player who felt he should have scored and knowing him, he probably would have. He said the ball got caught in the lights and he never saw it. When it hit his hands it just fell through. He was devasted. Football teaches kids many things about life and that is you can be on the mountain one day and in a valley the next. Our strength of character is fostered when we can pick it up, learn from it, and go on. It really helps us put things in perspective as well. This is a shining example of how the only constant is Jesus Christ and without a personal relationship with Him we have no hope. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Caleb knows this and will find strength in his faith. Caleb also loves football and he will bounce back and be a contributor for the next two years. We had a great season and have nothing to be ashamed of -----we will grow as a team and have other opportunities. Thanks again for your kindness. GO HOUNDS!!!

Your right the next two years will be a blast!! I am allready looking forward to it.

  3. No, NewCath is a much more gracious host than the city school in Pulaski Co. We just got beat tonight.

    Very well put hounds.

Great season Corbin. Good luck to NCC. I think this was alot better of a game than most expected, too bad it didn't go for good for us. It was fun to watch anyhow. Corbin got beat by a very solid opponent last night #24 and #20 are very elusive and # 15 on D allways finds a way to the ball.

  4. Thanks. I don't mean disrespect, but after seeing NewCath play, I find it hard to believe that Corbin will come close to them. Southern KY football just has not been as strong as Northern KY football. I may be wrong in my score predicition, but I really feel it will be all NewCath tomorrow. If I am wrong, I'll have no issue with eating crow.

Everyone is entitled to their opinon. Have you seen any video on Corbin? How can you make that presumption if you haven't. I hate to break it to you, but the NORTHERN KENTUCKY schools are not the only ones with a very rich tradition. NCC is not the only school in kentucky playing good football right now at this point in the season. But hey Corbin is a push over, right??? No contest for the Breds? Corbin will be ready to play and prove to the whole state of kentucky that NKY football is not all there is.

  5. Hounds will face a huge task, but I think they will be up to it. Cashen, Madon, Wagers and Sanders have been really dedicated to the football program and I think they want to join the Elite Redhounds who have played for all the marbles. These kids are good leaders and with some guidance from Coach Jewell and Coach Duncum who have both played in the big ones they will be prepared. Add Coach Farris to the mix, he has been on the sidelines for over 35 years and coached in championship games several times. He also has coached in the boys and girls Sweet 16 and the baseball state finals. He is a wise old fox and will have a few tricks. I would suspect most of the town of Corbin will be up there to support the Hounds come Friday.

They better have the traffic situation figured out, becasue the south is invading the north on friday.

  6. After seeing the last couple of NCC teams and Corbin this year I've got to five the edge to the 'Breds. Corbin is a solid team and while Dunbar, South Laurel, LCA, Somerset, and Middlesboro all have solid teams with some speed I would equate NCC more with Belfry, who shut Corbin out. Corbin will have some success but they won't be able to rip off long gains or run by NCC's DBs in the passing game. Corbin doesn't have the depth to grind out long drives and shut down NCC on defense. It'll be a hard fought game but in the end the trip and NCC's speed and depth will do the Hounds in. NCC 42, Corbin 21.

You may equate NCC to Belfry and i may be wrong but you will find out this friday that there is probably not a more physical team in the state as Belfry. After watching some of the online video's they just don't look that physical like bubba said they are like a bball on grass. Like I said video may not do them justice and i may be wrong. There is no doubt about it, this will on of the hardest faught games in the state this friday, with the rich tradition of NCC and the rich tradition of Corbin everything will be left on the field with no regrets except for the score for one un lucky team. Corbin is a very physical football team and have the weapons to go along with the physical play. I watched NCC at papa johns last year and they were a fine team then and im sure they are now. Corbin is no slouch so i cant wait to see how it all pans out.

  7. I am not taking anything away from the kids at all the kids on both teams played their heart out. There will be a tape sent to Mr. Noel Hargis 12th region head official. Several referee's in the area have looked at this tape and are completley stunned that 5 grown men would do this to a bunch of kids. Like I said not to take anything away from either teams kids they played their heart out. But when you have several somerset fans come up to you and say that they are sorry that these kids couldn't get a fair shot at each other in the biggest game of their lives so far. We were told by one Somerset fan not to hold this against the Somerset football program that this is not what they stand for or believe in.
