  1. I'll admit I don't attend many of the boys games, but I was impressed last night with the HHS fan support. The student section was crowded and loud. I even ran into several parents of former students. Unfortunately in the second half there wasn't much to cheer about. NCC played great and took the game over in the second half. I thought HHS really lacked floor leadership. I kept waiting for someone to step up, but it never happened.

I wasn't there...but I'll bet the senior players on NCC, (4 of them?) were determined to not be beat on their floor, in their last game at home! The Studs have ALWAYS been tough to beat up on the hill!! And speaking of student support...or lack there of.....did NCC have a "pep rally" for the team. Or do these things only exist in the movies now? I know HHS no longer has them.

  2. Be careful what you wish for. SHDHS has one of the best coaches in NKY.

He does have a tie to NCC....and you've seen how well we've done against them lately!! I, too, was alluding to the fact that we didn't get Holmes right out of the gate...but ya' gotta beat 'em sooner or later to get to Rupp. If the Birds don't turn it around quickly, Elmer and the Crusaders could easily be moving on! Good luck!

  3. A good barometer is BGP. I had to look long and hard to even find the thread regarding NCC v. HHS playing. Yesterday afternoon there were about 10 entries from 5 people. Years ago, that thread doesn't get out of the top 2 entries for DAYS! Apathy? Is the district title not important? (losers go anyway). Make the tourney "winner take all" and there will be MUCH more emphasis for the games. Last night HHS had the district game, a Band competition, and the Ed. Foundation dance all scheduled for the same time. The school isn't large enough to support, en masse, three events simultaneously. No Seniors on the team could alienate one fourth of the school population, also. No one thing kills school spirit...it takes alot of little things adding up over time. JMO.

  4. I just switched the t.v. to WKYT news and heard part of Gillispies post game talk. BCG stated "some people didn't switch on a high ball screen, you would expect them to do what they are told but they didn't". That may not be the exact quote but it is very close.

We may or may not hear "the rest of the story" later....:D

I would expect them to be immediately substituted for and maybe get a stern talking to....but then again I'm "old school"!
