  1. Start with a little butter in a cast iron skillet. Fry thin slices until crispy brown. Cover it with an over-medium egg with a side of shredded hash browns...and enjoy.

Oh man, I just did it to myself...now I need some goetta!

  2. I am not a huge fan of soccer. It just wasnt around here much when I was growing up. So, the attitude was, soccer was for kids that weren't tough enough for football (although I know now that soccer is a physically demanding sport to play).

World Cup is annoying with all those horns blowing constantly. I honestly tried to watch some matches and all I can take is about two minutes of that annoying buzzing sound.:isurrender:

  3. I couldn't tell you who all the players are or what their size and abilities are. But there is a difference between the schools you listed. I am only talking athletics and not assimilation into the student body. The difference is the athletes who go to the smaller schools like Beechwood, NewCath, Holy Cross etc. can count on playing time and more than likely being a key contributor. The athletes going to CCH and Highlands face much higher numbers and a much higher risk of not playing. For the top notch players, they know they are going to play. For the players who may be more borderline and/or have size issues, they take much more of a risk going to the bigger schools. That is the purely athletics side of things. Obviously, there are many more factors than playing time in choosing which school to attend and I am not addressing those in this post.

There are politics at EVERY school. If you have a certain family name, parent on school councils, have money...etc. If you are coming in from outside the school system (unless you are a stud athlete) you do have to fight harder to prove your worth. I would expect backers from successful schools like NCC, Highlands, and Beechwood to deny this. And this is fine, but its true.

  4. One other reason is that some of these are company cars. I had a company car for a while and since it was an Ohio company, it was Ohio plates. My neighbors would ask me why I had OH plates, that was the reason.

Just saying that not everyone that you see is someone "cheating the system."

Good point. Did not think of that one. Although many companies are doing away with company cars due to higher gas, taxes, insurance....etc.

  5. OK, maybe I am way off base on this one, but recently (within the last 3-4 mos. or so) I have noticed a huge increase of OH plates driving in KY. I am living in the Alexandria area, so there is not a lot of OH people heading this far south to go to work. Therefore, it doesnt seem like commuter traffic to me. Too many OH tags at too many different times of day.

Anyway, what I beleive is going on is that people are registereing their vehicles in OH while they are living in KY. Is this legal? How can you do it and get away with it? Does it really save you that much money in taxes?

It annoys me, because I try to be an honest citizen and to me, it seems like there are a lot of people cheating the state out of revenue!

Well, that is what it seems like to me.

  6. I just don't see how this guy was the right fit for Bellevue. Don't you want your coach to be able to teach as well? He has no track record of that. And his best college experience is at the NAIA level with no coordinator experience. How does he fit into the culture in the building with the other teachers? Just seems puzzling to me...

Doesn't everybody have to start somewhere? Every head coach was a first time head coach somewhere. Every teacher had a first year at some time. Coach Shearer will do a fine job. The question is: Is the talent this year as good as it was last year? If the talent is not as good, and the record dips, will people point their fingers at the coach?

  7. One spot that use to aggrevate me was on going into Somerset from 75. At night, the officers would pull onto the shoulder, turn their lights off and run radar. I beleive that this is very dangerous for the officer and moving traffic. What if a vehicle had to pull onto the shoulder for an emergency and didnt see the police car until it was too late?

There should be a rule that they need to keep their lights on even at night.

  8. Should make the Maui Invitational interesting with both UK and WASH as participants.

I would also think that they will be placed in the same region in the NCAA tourney. You know how the selection committee likes all the little side drama's to promote the games.

  9. Dont forget that all the other survivors had no clue about Russells play going into this season since it was being filmed as the last one aired. So nobody truely knew what kind of snake he was until further in the game. Russell is a GREAT strategic player (the best IMO). However, as many stated before me, he has not figured out how to be tactful. Going around calling people stupid to their faces, telling them they will go home if they cross him will not get him votes.

How many times have we heard him say "with me or against me" and "if you cross Russell, you will get sent home"? Well, people are knocking Sandra for her failed attempts at removing Russell. But what about Sandra surviving even when Russell knew she was not "with him". She survived and therefore deserved consideration!

  10. Obsiously a rival game where anything can happen. I look for the teams to be a little more evenly matched this year. I am hearing some positive things coming from the Dayton side.

How will the new coach at Bellevue build the team up for this rivalry? If it is not a Bellevue person, will they understand the importance of this game?

  11. A real competitor was he. I recall a game between Ludlow and Bellevue a few years ago when Coach Borchers took exception to a late Bellevue drive. Randy was not too happy and let his feelings known after the game. Things got a little tense when the two teams shook hands after the game. There was Jordan, right behing Coach Borchers ready "to go" if needed against a very beefy Bellevue staff.

  12. How old was this guy if it's the guy I seen he had a passion for football and them kids. I remember when they beat us (Dayton) a couple years ago in overtime and if the guy I seen he was the most excited person on the field you could see it in him. AS A Dayton fan we here are very sorry for your loss are prayers are with his family.
